Hi <<First Name>>,

To carry on seeing our carefully crafted newsletters, we need to confirm your permission. Yes Please! Take me there!

We're altering reality this month - with Franck Allais, we've been shrinking creative stars into a wonderland of their own treasured possessions. We paint a dull day with bright sunshine for Marc Trautmann's Jaguar shoot and add a Ford that was never there for Uli Heckmann. And Thomas Brown goes through the looking glass with a sculpture that can only be photographed, not seen, for Frame Magazine.

Join us down the rabbit hole,

Christoph

Jaguar - Marc Trautmann

Jaguar - Marc Trautmann

Marc Trautmann took the new compact crossover E-Pace on a week long shoot to the streets of London for its latest campaign. The brief called for a sunny, late afternoon atmosphere, but the weather refused to cooperate. This didn’t stop our post artist Pepê Alram from using his mad sunshine painting skills, and together the team transformed a gloomy day into a pleasant, bustling afternoon in the city. To see how all the pieces came together head over to our blog.

Frame - Thomas Brown

Frame - Thomas Brown

Frame Magazine assigned photographer Thomas Brown and set designer Andrew Stellitano to create visual interpretations of the themes for their four latest issues. The subject of the pictured edition is 'Events', in which the ephemerality of happenings is being explored. In the artists' own words: "Inspired by the speed at which the world is changing, we wanted to create a sculpture that is more than the sum of its parts and that can be captured only as a photograph. With our camera, we compress time." Using stroboscopic lighting in combination with long time exposures the photographer captured moving elements around a static object, creating a feeling of impermanence. The Guardian - Franck Allais

The Guardian - Franck Allais

For this cover story in The Observer, Franck Allais portrayed eight creative luminaries with their favorite design object, with a playful twist on the scale of things. In this image, fashion designer Ashish Gupta lounges next to his unique golden swan kitchen tap, the pièce de résistance in his own custom designed kitchen, for which he salvaged various highly unusual items. Not knowing what to expect from each person, the photographer captured the objects first and then matched the angle and lighting when taking the portraits. During post production he visited us in our London studio to discuss composition and mood, while giving us a lot of freedom in assembling and finishing the shots. Ford - Uli Heckmann

Ford - Uli Heckmann

Uli Heckmann and his team traveled to Chicago to capture the 2019 Ford Edge reveal campaign, just in time to be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show. A previous year's model was used on location for perspective and lighting reference, which was later entirely replaced with the new model in CGI. Andrew Coleman, creative retoucher from our NY studio, provided on set support, shooting HDR spheres for maximum realism in the CGI lighting and building rough comps to get a head start on the post production. He also captured the backplates for the 360 spin online configurator we were assigned to build as well. To view more images of this campaign visit our website.
