Metrobus service start dates
Start dates for Metrobus m2 and m1 services have been announced. The m2 service, from Long Ashton Park & Ride via Temple Meads to the city centre, will start in autumn, and the m1 service, from Hengrove to Cribbs Causeway, will start in January 2019. The announcement follows the news that the m3 service, from Emersons Green into the City Centre, will start on May 29. More information about Metrobus is available on the Travelwest website.

Invest in Bristol's green future
The council, alongside various partners, has published a range of investment opportunities called ‘City Leap’. Their aim is to create a series of energy and infrastructure investment opportunities that will help to create a healthier and fairer city for all residents, helping to create jobs, maintain economic competitiveness, de-carbonise the city, build strong partnerships and empower communities to take their future into their own hands. An expression of interest window is open until Friday 31 August, and a prospectus document outlining the opportunities can be found on council’s Energy Service website: www.energyservicebristol.co.uk/prospectus.

Engine Shed project needs engineers to support the next generation of coders
Are you a developer looking to help the next generation of tech talent? Engine Shed's local Code Clubs for 8 – 14 year olds, run by DigiLocal, are looking for help to develop culturally relevant project guides so young people can start developing their own computer games. They need a couple of hours of your time to meet with John Bradford, the project director, so that he can explain the project and you can suggest content for the guides. They are also looking for more volunteers to help run Code Clubs across the West of England, which are a few hours a week. The government’s Gigabit Voucher Scheme provides grants of up to £3,000 for businesses to get gigabit-ready broadband. The scheme is only available until the government funding runs out, so interested SMEs are encouraged to contact providers as soon as possible.
