GICU WRAP-up!

Thanks to all who participated in the Great Islands Clean-Up on Earth Day! We had a great turnout as 440 volunteers collected 6,700+ pounds of trash over 159 miles of roads and beaches throughout the islands. Lopez Island diverted 852 pounds of their trash to recycling and we tested the use of burlap bags to try to reduce the use of plastics in the County. “It was great working with the coordinators and the many volunteers on each island,” said Mark Herrenkohl of San Juan County Public Works. “Their efforts made this year’s GICU a grand success!”

Find Of The Week!

All we know about this machine is that it will dispense any dried material (rice, tea, grains perhaps?) in accurate amounts.

We get all sorts of treasures at the Exchange. Follow us on
