New study finds drinkers support clearer labelling of alcohol products 

A new study ‘Know your limits: Labelling interventions to reduce alcohol consumption’ by the University of Bristol and funded by Alcohol Research UK suggests that labels which present unit and calorie information in a clear and accessible way - displayed within the context of the Chief Medical Officers’ low-risk drinking guidelines and health messages – improved consumer understanding of the risks associated with drinking.

New research reveals growing crisis in alcohol treatment sector


On 1 May 2018 politicians, service providers, researchers and charities met in the Houses of Parliament to set out what they see as the key challenges facing the alcohol treatment sector, and how Government might help address them.

At the centre of the meeting, held by the All Party Parliamentary Group on Alcohol Harm, was a new report from Alcohol Concern / Alcohol Research UK, which details the crisis facing alcohol services and sets out 14 recommendations for action - including the need for a national alcohol strategy.
