Greetings, <<First Name>>,
Good news! We’ve reached 80% of our budget fulfilled by regular giving. That means only 20% of our budget remains for people to commit to giving on a regular basis before we can return to Papua New Guinea.
This past month has been up and down emotionally. We are still encouraged but at times discouragement creeps in as we’ve passed by our original return date. There are still many opportunities to share about our ministry and what God is doing through Bible Translation in Papua New Guinea, so we’re thankful. We really want to be able to return by July so that Felicity can start kindergarten with the rest of her class.
At the end of this month is a road-trip (which car-loving-son Norman has been waiting for) down to Southern California to return the Suburban we’ve borrowed for this past year. If we’re still working towards our budget after that time we’ll use Jason’s old Corolla for work but have the family mostly at home since preschool will be out and our mobility as an entire family will be limited. We’re expecting God to move and take us back to where our passion lies in Papua New Guinea soon. Preparations continue to be made, from blood tests to sorting and packing luggage.
Some of the Papua New Guineans at the mission center in PNG have asked our colleagues when we’re coming back and no doubt our friends in Hinihon are wondering the same thing. Please pray that they would bear the wait with grace and compassion and that we can return sooner rather than later.
In the meantime, we do expect to leave in the next month or two, so anyone who wants to see us that hasn’t yet we welcome plans to do so now. We will be having a going away party next month. We’ll send out a quick update to everyone when we have the details nailed down.
Thank you to all of you who support our Wycliffe ministry through prayer and finances. Christ is our firm foundation and you are the body of Christ. We stand upon that and without the body of Christ lifting us up we can do nothing.
