WHAT'S UP

When Ultra-Violet was announced as Pantone's Color of the Year, I'm pretty sure I smiled big time. Let's just say purple has always had a soft spot in my heart, being a February gal and all.

So I really wanted to participate in the Pantone Quilt Challenge, both because it's kind of a tradition for me, and of course because.... purple. Grape Fizzy got thrown together pretty quickly to meet the deadline, but it was thoroughly enjoyable - one of those projects when every step is satisfying.

LOOKING BACK

Maybe it's just me, but finding the time to sew hasn't been the easiest lately. It made me think of an older post - all tips that keep me moving forward even when life is demanding.

GOTTA LOVE IT!

When I first saw Cindy/Live a Colorful Life's Friendship Circles quilt, something looked vaguely familiar. Yup, I'd made one of the Winged Square blocks for her back in the Mid Century Modern Bee. I absolutely loved how Cindy's layout setting,
inspired by a pattern by Coleen Merte, just took the blocks in a whole new wonderful direction. Inspired, definitely.
