Mutiny Memoirs Being Personal Reminiscences of the Great Sepoy Revolt of 1857.

Mackenzie was a subaltern with the 3rd Bengal Light Cavalry at Meerut on the outbreak of the Mutiny & was later in the Siege of Delhi & Relief of Lucknow (with other irregular cavalry regiments). Atmospheric account that first appeared in the columns of the Pioneer newspaper. The first edition was published in 1891 & both editions are rare.  Memoir of the Early Operations of the Burmese War.
Lister Maw, Naval ADC to Maj.-Gen. Sir Archibald Campbell, commanding the portion of the expedition to Burma 1824-26 tasked with blockading the Irrawaddy River & capturing Rangoon (where most of the fighting took place), & previously a midshipman in HMS Liffey (a frigate of 50 guns), having observed that Snodgrass's (standard) account of the campaign had not included, to a satisfactory degree, the Naval contribution, addressed this in "a Letter to the Editor of the USI" which "extended into a memoir." (vide Preface.) Written in three parts: (I.) "Circumstances which led up to, & preparations for, the war." (II.) "Early Affairs" (including accounts of various engagements, military & marine, in one of which the author was wounded) & (III.) "Nature of the Country; & Character & Resources of the Burmans." Concludes with a 4pp. paper "On a Russian Invasion of British India" - observations on the passes, inclinations of the tribes &c. Indian Independence Movement in East Asia: The Most Authentic Account of The I.N.A. & The Azad Hind Government.

This work, based on the official records of the Azad Hind (Free India) movement & its military arm, the Indian National Army (INA) & compiled by the Civil Administrator of the Provisional Government of Free India, constitutes the official history of the two closely inter-linked organisations. It contains a full account of the establishment of the AH & INA, several conferences in Tokyo, during which various Indian Nationals in exile - most notably Subhas Chandra Bose, formerly a member of the Indian National Congress - in concert with the Japanese, organised a Provisional Government of Free India, based in the Andaman Islands (the only part of India available) & claiming sovereignty over the people of India, although recognised only by Japan & her allies in the East. The military wing, the INA, comprised 40,000 troops, mainly PoWs taken in Malaya & Singapore, augmented by Indian civilian expats.  Nice copy in sl. chipped dw. Critical Study of the Campaign in Mesopotamia up to April 1917.
For Official Use Only. Very rare study based on a tour of the battlefield by students of the Staff College at Quetta, some of whom had participated in the campaign: "In the autumn of 1923 a tour of the Mesopotamian battlefields was carried out by the instructors & students of the Staff College, Quetta, & the course of the campaign & the principal operations were studied on the spot. This work contains a brief history of the campaign up to the end of April 1917 put together before & during the tour, with a critical analysis of the more important actions & the results of discussions on some of the problems of strategy & organization which arose in the course of the campaign... The results of this Staff College Tour are considered to be of such value that they are here produced under official auspices..." Valuable study.
