US standard setter shares a vision of the future for valuation professionals
|
|
David Bunton is President and CEO of The Appraisal Foundation, the US organisation responsible for setting congressionally authorised standards and qualifications for real estate appraisers. Prior to joining TAF in 1990, he held roles in federal government and the US Senate and was congressional Chief of Staff in the House of Representatives. We asked David to share his thoughts on the US appraisal industry, the role of TAF and the future of the appraisal profession.

Enhancing professionalism in business valuation: Share your thoughts on a proposed BV Quality Mark
|
|
The IVSC has this month launched a consultation on a proposed business valuation quality mark. We are seeking feedback from anyone interested in this proposal, especially business valuation stakeholders, by 1 August 2018.
With public interest in mind, IVSC is proposing to offer international recognition of qualified VPOs that meet a high quality level of BV technical and professional standards, through the awarding of a quality mark.
A consultation paper providing further background and details of how to respond is available on the IVSC website.
All stakeholders are invited and encouraged to share their feedback on the proposal, as well as further ideas for ways to elevate BV professionalism.

Join our standards boards for their upcoming meetings
|
|
|
The IVSC's technical standards boards will meet in person in Vancouver on 1-2 August and you can join them as they discuss future updates to the International Valuation Standards.
The IVSC Tangible Assets and Business Valuation Boards will meet on Wednesday 01 August and the IVSC Standards Review Board will meet the following day, Thursday 02 August.
Observers are welcome to join their meetings either in person or online via remote conferencing facilities.
