Your bi-monthly update
from CrossReach

May 2018
Hi *|HTML:MMERGE4|*, here's your latest
CrossReach eNews Newsletter.
Your personal information

By now, I'm sure you are familiar with the initials GDPR and know that, from 25th May 2018, there are new rules governing how we can use your personal information.

How does this affect me?
The changes give you additional rights over the personal information which CrossReach holds about you. For full information about this, please see CrossReach’s privacy pages at www.crossreach.org.uk
The good news is that, if you already receive information from us, which you do, then we will continue sending you it. There is therefore no change and no action is required by you.
We will therefore continue sending you the eNews as you have already given us permission to do this.
At the end of each edition of eNews is the option for you to unsubscribe.

If you have any questions on GDPR or want to change any other communications you receive from CrossReach, then please call us on 0131 454 4374 or email supporters@crossreach.org.uk

Calling all knitters!

If you think back to the March edition of CrossReach eNews, you may remember us talking about CrossReach Children & Family Services newest recruit; CALAMARI SHANARRI.

CALAMARI SHANARRI has proved very popular in engaging groups of children, young people and adults and indeed all ages together to learn about GIRFEC and children’s wellbeing.
He’s proved so popular that we need a new shoal of CALAMARIs to meet the demand. If you are able to knit us a CALAMARI (email us for the pattern) then please do so and send your colourful CALAMARI to: CALAMARI SHANARRI, CrossReach, Charis House, 47 Milton Road East, Edinburgh, EH15 2SR

Swimming in stamps, and we love it!

Thank you for all the stamps and other collectables you are sending in to CrossReach!
The response so far has been amazing!
Not a day goes by without you sending us at least one package of stamps! We even received 2 black bags full of stamps recently. We love all the stamps we receive, whether by the envelope or the black bag!
We are also grateful for receiving your stamp albums, first day cover collections, war medals, old coins, postcard collections, cigarette card collections, and any other collectable you want to send!
Your stamps and collectables are turned into care in many of CrossReach's Children and Family services, such Daisy Chain in Govanhill and the Visitors' Centre at HMYOI Polmont.
Please tell everyone you know that we welcome stamps, stamp collections and other collectables and, together, we'll see more children and families receive the loving care and support they need. Thank you.
To find our more about Stamps and Collectables, phone us on 0131 454 4374 or email supporters@crossreach.org.uk

Spring Appeal ... Update

To everyone who has already donated so generously to the CrossReach Spring Appeal, a huge THANK YOU!
The target for this year’s Spring Appeal is to provide 40 Addiction Recovery Appointments at CrossReach’s Simpson House each month for adults affected by their own or someone else’s past or present drug misuse.
Through the amazing generosity of so many fantastic supporters like you, 37 Addiction Recovery Appointments each month are already covered for the next year! This is fantastic, and means we are only 3 Appointments per month away from the target! That’s just £63 per month.
While the past couple of weeks have seen almost summer like weather, it is still Spring, and the Spring Appeal is still open for a few more weeks. This means there’s still time for you to provide a 30 minute Recovery Appointment, or several Appointments, at £21 each.
You can donate HERE and leave a comment to say your donation is for Recovery Appointments, or send a cheque (payable to CrossReach) to Spring Appeal, CrossReach, Charis House, 47 Milton Road East, Edinburgh, EH15 2SR.
Thank you for making a difference through your gift of Recovery Appointments.

Summer adrenaline with CrossReach Events

Want to feel really alive this Summer?
Want to feel the wind on your face as you jump from a plane (with a parachute, and harnessed safely to an experienced parachutist).
Want to experience the amazing smell of a Scottish forest as you zip-wire across 2km at tree-top height, near Aviemore?
Sorry, but the chances to jump from the Forth Rail Bridge, in an abseil harness, have all gone for this year.
So what'll it be? A parachute jump, or a zip-wire?
Check www.crossreach.org.uk for more Events information.

Guild and CrossReach Tackle Loneliness

Join Up the Dots is one of six life-changing projects in Scotland and around the world the Church of Scotland Guild has chosen to receive fundraising support over the next three years.
Join Up the Dots is a new partnership between CrossReach and the Guild to tackle loneliness and isolation.
To request a talk about the project at your Guild, contact our Talks Team on 0131 454 4374 or email supporters@crossreach.org.uk
It's good to talk...
There's only limited space here to let you know of the transformations you and CrossReach, together, are making in Scotland, and the opportunities to do more.
We would love to come and talk to your Church, Guild or other group to let you know more about the exciting, life changing, differences being made, and how you can be part of it.
Phone us now on 0131 454 4374 or email supporters@crossreach.org.uk and let's agree a date to talk.
