Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth ages 13-25 are directly impacted by the criminal justice and immigration detention system every day. Facing exclusion, and violence and the state enforcement of discrimination and profiling in our lives and of our bodies. In 2018, fourty-nine years after the Stonewall Rebellion - an event that LGBTQ Prides honors - Black, Brown.Trans and Queer communities are still not fully included in the mainstream LGBT vision of liberation and other movements for racial and social justice..
BreakOUT! presents MyQTPOCPride a keynote and panel discussion with Miss Major Griffin-Gracy a formerly incarcerated Black transgender elder and activist who has been fighting for the rights of trans women of color and TGNC communities for over 40 years. Miss Major is a veteran of the Stonewall Rebellion and a survivor of Attica State Prison, a former sex worker, an elder, and a community leader and human rights activist.
