Data Protection Update and Information

We are writing to let you know that we have updated our Privacy Policy to reflect changes in response to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that comes in to affect on 25th May 2018. You do not need to respond to this email to stay in touch with us, we are just keeping you informed of the changes.

We have a relatively small number of supporters and associates. Most of you we know personally and the rest of you are our professional contacts we work closely with on our projects. As we are continuing to only use your data as you expected, we believe it is in the interest of current contacts and partners to stay in touch.

The data we hold for you includes your name and email address. We hold this data because you have asked to be kept informed about our activities. The GDPR requires us to make sure you are aware that we hold this data and that you know your rights.

Types of data and purposes:

The data we hold about you includes your name and email address for the legitimate interest of keeping you informed about our activities and for fundraising for our charitable purposes.

If you or a family member you care for has been involved with Dance in Devon workshops we may also hold some personal or sensitive data collected on our consent forms (eg. date of birth, home address, telephone number, medical condition and emergency contact details). In line with our privacy policy, after a set period paper information will be shredded and digital records will be deleted.

Committed to respecting your privacy.

Your data and information will be kept secure and private. It will not be passed on to any third party unless it is necessary for Safeguarding/Child Protection or a medical emergency in which case it will be passed to the appropriate authorities.

We will take steps to ensure that personal data is kept secure at all times. Hard copies of consent forms will be kept in a locked file and email addresses will be kept in a password protected spreadsheet on a secure laptop/digital storage. The information we hold will be kept up to date and can be checked by you at any time by contacting the Executive Director.
