Blaenavon World Heritage Day 2018 - Saturday 30 June 11am – 4pm X Factor and Only Boys Aloud star Russell Jones will headline Blaenavon’s World Heritage Day on Saturday 30 June.
A highlight of the day will be the popular heritage costume parade, which this year will celebrate Blaenavon’s social history.

Blaenavon World Heritage Environmental Group Bat & Nocturnal Bird Evening. 9th June 2018 starting at 9:15pm.
As part of Wales Biodiversity Week we will be recording bats and nocturnal birds using the Blaenavon Community Woodland. We will look and listen for the mysterious Nightjars emerging from the woods to hunt over the moor, and we will be using acoustic bat detectors to convert their ultrasound echolocation calls to ones we can hear Guided walk following the "Hidden Forgeside" Trail. 30th June 2018 starting at 2.00 p.m.
Start Point = Blaenavon World Heritage Centre. A Heritage Day afternoon walk of about 4 km (2½ miles) and suitable for families. This walk introduces a part of Blaenavon which grew up around the early iron industry and which is still important today. World War I comes to Blaenavon Ironworks Saturday 2nd June & Sunday 3rd June 2018 – 11am – 4pm World War I Commemoration, with Great War re-enactment and living history, Punch and Judy, weaponry displays, working blacksmith and craft demonstrations, and Gwent in the Great War Exhibition. Attended by the Royal British Legion. With talks and displays on life in the Great War.
