Emergence of Consciousness 11 Main Lesson

Artistic projects by Jessica Tang (Anime style) and Augusto Lanzoni Viera (masks & flags)
"This course focuses on identifying capacities arising from individual consciousness, and identifying individuals and situations at various points in time through which these capacities come to light. Ways in which these capacities and our individuality can be compromised are considered. The students’ exercise the capacity to ask questions out of oneself, which is central to the course, and draws upon the students' earlier study of the Parzival Main Lesson."

COMMUNITY MESSAGE FROM AWSNA

As we mourn another tragic school shooting this past week and continue to find strength as we respond to crisis in the many forms it has taken this year - hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires, and floods included - we wanted to let you know that the Housatonic Valley Waldorf School is recovering from the aftermath of last Tuesday's tornado in CT. Their power is still out, school is closed, and a few families sustained significant damage to their homes and property. The school, fortunately, had no structural damage and everyone is safe and accounted for in their community. Additionally, the Honolulu Waldorf School suffered tremendous flood damage this spring and they are not able to move back onto campus for the rest of the school year. Finally, as many of you are aware, the Malamalama Waldorf School community is experiencing tremendous challenges and many have lost homes due to the volcano eruption on the Big Island. The air quality continues to be very poor.

We recall writing a similar letter during the first weeks of September. The year seems to be closing in much the same way as it began. More than ever, the world needs self-aware people with a strong sense of purpose, concern for others, and the capacity to be in service to society. Keep doing what you are doing - strengthening community and bringing hope to future generations.

Olympiad Demonstration

Thank you, Brendon Purdy, for capturing the grace, truth, beauty, and skill of our young Olympians during their demonstration before they left for the Greek Games!
Many blessings
