EXCLUSIVE FLCA Donor Newsletter

Volume D - Issue 2
You are receiving this newsletter because you have made a contribution to FLCA or have been the guest of a donor at one of our events.

Hello, Patriot!

Here's an update on what's happening with FLCA since our last donor newsletter.

The Florida Legislative season ended March 9th

We recapped the session in our March newsletter. Here is a link to that newsletter, in case you missed it.

The FLCA Team is busy executing our growth and outreach plan. We need to educate influencers including parents, grandparents, everyday taxpayers, teachers, employers and the faith-based community to become aware of and help put a stop to the indoctrination of our public school children. We are working very hard in 4 particular areas to accomplish this objective:

  1. We are following through on our content delivery plan for both our website and social media. Hillsdale College student Domine Clemons (an FLCA intern), is posting important K-12 articles to our website 5 days a week. Those articles are also being published on FLCA's Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn accounts.

Requested Action: Visit the FLCA website several times per week and check out the latest posts on the homepage. Use the ‘Share This’ buttons at the bottom of any post...

...to share (on your own social media accounts) any posts that you think may be of interest to your followers and encourage them to become FLCA subscribers (it’s FREE!).

THIS WILL HELP US TO HELP YOUR FRIENDS UNDERSTAND WHAT IS HAPPENING TO OUR K-12 STUDENTS AND THE DANGER POSED TO THE FUTURE OF OUR REPUBLIC

  2. We just started a trial project to evaluate "Neon CRM", a not-for-profit donor management system. FLCA intern and Hillsdale College student Cassie Moran is leading this effort for us. We greatly appreciate your support at whatever level you can afford and realize that we need to do a much better job keeping you both informed and engaged. We are hopeful that implementing a donor management system will help us do that.

Requested Action: Make another one-time donation or sign up for a monthly donation

  3. Florida textbook assessment continues. We are assembling a repository (think "library") of carefully reviewed textbooks. Continuing with our very strong Truth in Textbooks ("TNT") partnership, we are training everyday citizens to evaluate Florida textbooks for political and religious indoctrination, rewriting of our history, denigration of our founding values, and pornography. This work is taking place in multiple counties. Despite our new instructional materials bill  (which Governor Scott signed in 2017), most counties are dragging their feet or actually violating this new law (and other Florida laws). On May 17th, FLCA published a press release titled “Why are Florida School Boards Violating Florida Laws”.

We can assure you that this is happening in almost every county in Florida. At this point, the only county making real headway in stopping the indoctrination is Marion County. They are taking some solid first steps. For example, they disqualified the British company Pearson PLC (who claims to deliver 80% of all instructional materials in the US) from even bidding! Why? Because Pearson refused to comply with FL State mandated contract terms of indemnification, protection of student privacy, and most-favored-nation pricing. This is a HUGE victory! To recognize their achievement, we presented Dr. Heidi Maier and the Marion County School Board our first ever FLCA Education Leadership Award on April 10, 2018.

Requested Action: Sign-up for Truth in Textbooks training. The next class begins in early July.  Contact TNT's Roy White for more info and to get registered for the class.

  4. The FLCA Board evaluated a Tampa company (Pathways to Growth), that writes grants for non-profit organizations. After several discussions with Pathways' president Jule Colvin, we decided to move forward. Our first-year investment will be in the range of $5-7K. Pathways' average payback is 48 to 1 and the average of their bottom 5 clients is 5 to 1.

Requested Action: We have a donor who has committed to match funding up to $2,500 for this project. Please consider making a $500 or $1,000 donation to help get us started with the grant-writing project, but any amount will be a great help. Send your check to FLCA, P.O. Box 697, Marco Island, FL 34146. Write “Grant Project” on the check.

2018 Primary Season

In addition to the above, we have one other major activity to talk about. "Watchdog teams" in Collier, Lee and St. Lucie counties are hosting school board candidate forums. We created a 25-question, issue-based survey along with a Constitutional survey which we urge school board candidates to complete. Using a combination of their survey answers, their remarks & responses from the forums, and a separate interview process, we will be creating voter guides to help inform voters. We are working with Christian Family Coalition (CFC) to interview gubernatorial and attorney general candidates to create voter guides for those races as well. We are also piloting CFC’s local interview process for county commission and local judicial elections.

Possible Action: If you would like to organize a school board forum in your county, contact Keith Flaugh for details and possible funding to help you.

Florida Kids Deserve Better and we are committed to solutions that improve student learning.

Remember, Vladimir Lenin said, “Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.”  We are almost two generations into giving our children and their future to the progressives!

The time is NOW and if not us, WHO?

We greatly appreciate your continuing support! Please make a donation today, and if you can help us fund the grant writing project to take advantage of the matching funds offer, that would be terrific.

Remember, your donation is tax deductible!

Florida Citizens Alliance, INC is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization (DLN 17053046342037)
