Glacier Express Switzerland
unknown artist, 1925
In 1930, the first Glacier Express started in Zermatt with 70 invited guests on board and reached St. Moritz after eleven hours. Today, this train crosses 291 bridges and 91 tunnels or the 2033 metre-high Oberalp pass in about eight hours and travels through the cantons of Grisons, Uri and Valais.
With its abstract design, this original poster shows the steep ascent of the "world’s slowest express train" before a majestic mountain backdrop. This colour lithograph from the 1920s is a Swiss icon and a rarity.

ZURICH Suisse Switzerland Schweiz
by Alex Walter Diggelmann, 1940
This lovely stone lithograph by Alex W. Diggelmann shows a white gull flying over the Quai Bridge on Lake Zurich. Vintage posters for Zurich are very rare because Zurich was never advertised as much as the famous Swiss tourist resorts were. A perfect stone lithograph from 1940.

Schaffhauser Wolle
(Laine de Schaffhouse - Wool of Schaffhouse)
by Pierre Junod, 1947
The designers of most of the posters for "Schaffhauser Wolle" concentrated on the product itself, a colourful, almost luminous skein of wool yarn. Some poster artists, such as P.A. Junod here, placed the skein on a colourful, contrasting background.

Geflügel - St. Annahof
(Poultry - St. Annahof)
by Sebastian Oesch, 1915
This humorous poster advertising poultry sold at the St. Annahof grocery store in Zurich is very rare. It is from the former collection of the poster enthusiast and passionate collector Dr. Hans Sachs, which for many years was stored at the German Historical Museum and was later retrieved by his family.
