Noble's Class of 2018 Earns $474 Million in College Scholarships and 98% College Acceptance
Downtown "Senior Sendoff" Celebration Highlights 14,700 College Acceptances for 2,300 Graduating Seniors
CHICAGO, IL – Today, Noble Network of Charter Schools and its 18 campuses across Chicago celebrated the college achievements of the Class of 2018 with its annual "Senior Sendoff" at the Auditorium Theater at Roosevelt University. As Noble's largest ever graduating class, the more than 2,300 seniors set records for college acceptance and scholarship attainment, with 98% of all graduates accepted to colleges and universities across the country. The cumulative total of all scholarships earned by Noble students grew to a record-breaking $474 million.
Today's program brought together Noble senior classes from across the city. Spread among 18 campuses and coming from nearly every Chicago neighborhood, the senior class represents demographics in the city that have long been limited from accessing higher education at the levels of their suburban peers. Noble's student population is 98% students of color and 89% low-income, and they and are being accepted into college at historic rates never before seen for public high school students in Chicago.

Together, the Class of 2018 earned over 14,000 college admissions, averaging a remarkable six college admissions per student. Over 300 graduating seniors have chosen to attend the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, with 300 planning to attend the University of Illinois at Chicago. The chancellors of both schools, Robert J. Jones and Michael Amiridis, respectively, gave short remarks and joined their incoming Noble alumni on stage in an energetic celebration of the four years of college that lay ahead for each student. Also taking the stage during the course of the celebration were the over 100 seniors who will be attending historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) throughout the country.

Based on national historical data, low-income students of color traditionally graduate college at an alarmingly low rate of less than 15%. Noble alumni are already graduating college at more than three times this rate, and school officials expect the college graduation rate to continue to grow incrementally each year. A well-established and growing program of college supports provides Noble alumni with assistance, counseling, and familiarity throughout their college journey.

- $474 million in scholarships earned
- 98% of all graduating seniors accepted to college
- 14,700 college admissions offers for 2,300 seniors, which is over six college admissions per student
- 71 recipients of the Pritzker Access Scholarship for undocumented students
- Two dozen acceptances to Ivy League universities
