Staff Book Review

Minnesota Authors with Series

Several mystery and fiction authors from Minnesota have written one or more series of books. Here are a few you might want to check out!

William Kent Krueger writes the Cork O’Connor series, which is set in Minnesota. There are 17 books in this series for the avid mystery fan. Krueger lives in the Twin Cities area.

Author P.J. Tracy is actually two people! This is a mother/daughter duo, who uses their first names to make up the author name. They are from Minnesota and have written the Monkeewrench series of nine books.

Bryan Freeman sets his mysteries in the Lake Superior and Duluth area. Jonathan Stride is the series title, and there are nine books so far.

All of these author’s titles can be looked up in the library catalog using a keyword, series or author search.

Tech Tip

Book Series at the Library

We have created a special way for our patrons to know where a certain book on our shelf falls in a series. At the top of the spine of the book there is a label with a number, or a letter and a number. A “1” on the spine of the book would mean book 1 in the series. If there is another series by the same author, we use the first letter of the series name and then the number to distinguish between different sets.

Using the catalog computer is another way to look up a series. Click on one title and it will show you what it is a sequel to, and what it is followed by. If there is still some confusion about finding what you are searching for, please come to the circulation desk and our staff would be happy to help you!
