Weekly Meeting

Please join us for our next weekly gathering, taking place this Sunday, May 27th, for meditation and dharma sharing, 6:30pm at Unitarian Place (Kingston Unitarian Fellowship), 206 Concession Street. Darcy Gawronski-McNinch will be bell minding.
Lovingkindness

"The first element of true love is lovingkindness. The essence of lovingkindness is being able to offer happiness. You can be the sunshine for another person. You can’t offer happiness until you have it for yourself. So build a home inside by accepting yourself and learning to love and heal yourself. Learn how to practice mindfulness in such a way that you can create moments of happiness and joy for your own nourishment. Then you have something to offer the other person."

-- Thich Nhat Hanh, How to Love

Sangha Library

Featured Book

Using the objects and events of everyday life in his hermitage in Plum Village, Thich Nhat Hanh draws from Buddhist psychology, epistemology, and the world of contemporary literature and science in The Sun My Heart, to guide the reader along the path of clarity and understanding. Thay suggests in the introduction that The Sun My Heart “prefers to be a friend rather than a book....It can give you small moments of joy at any time.” To borrow this book, see Anne Graham, our Sangha Librarian.

Understanding is Love

"Understanding someone’s suffering is the best gift you can give another person. Understanding is love’s other name. If you don’t understand, you can’t love."

-- Thich Nhat Hanh, How to Love
Our sangha has two teams helping to share leadership and facilitation of our meetings. Our Bell Minders Team are mindful facilitators for our weekly gatherings, as well as retreats, taking beautiful care of our friends in the practice including the bell. Our Sangha Care Team facilitates sangha care meetings, plans retreats, minds our library and resources, and coordinates outreach. If you are interested in helping with either or both, contact interbeingkingston@gmail.com for more information.
