Hi everyone!

I hope you're all doing great. One more time, it's a pleasure to keep you on the loop with all the musical activities that are going on. I have exciting news.  I am part of a new recording project for Elizabeth McGovern, best known as an actress for her main role as Cora in Downton Abbey. Also, THIS is playing at the legendary Stephen Talkhouse in just a couple of weeks, and as announced in the previous newsletter, last month I traveled to Montreux, Switzerland, with the Glory Gospel Singers to perform at Polymanga 2018.  There are videos featuring many participants in the festival, including celebrities like Billy Zane from Back to the Future and Anais Delva, Elsa's character in the French version of Frozen

The Glory Gospel Singers
Polymanga 2018

Polymanga 2018 was a lot of fun, and we were delighted with the way we were received in Montreux.  The festival happens every year and is all about Japanese anime, manga, and pop culture.  It included cosplay, projections, video games, dancing, and of course concerts.  The Glory Gospel Singers performed opening themes for several anime and American shows and video games, and this meant singing in exotic languages, such as Swahili, Latin, and of course Japanese.  We also had a couple of really fun meet-and-greet sessions with the audience, and we were interviewed for Point Barre, a show on the radio station Couleur 3, which also broadcasts on TV under RTS (Radio Television Suisse).  Point Barre covered the festival on their Episode 28, and you may watch the whole show, or go directly to our interview within it.  We hope you like it!  Excerpts of our performances are also available, and I would like to share a little bit of "Fighting Dreamers," from the show Naruto, where I had a main role. And for a very quick peek of the whole experience, here is a short and fast-paced video of the last day at Polymanga 2018.

THIS at The Stephen Talkhouse

On Thursday, May 31st, THIS will be at The Stephen Talkhouse, in Amagansett, NY.  The show is from 8 to 10 pm., and we will be playing originals along with pop and rock & roll covers.  Again, for those readers not yet familiar with the Talkhouse, it is a host to several well known artists and bands, like Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Billy Joel, and many more great icons, some of which still play there.  Check out StephenTalkhouse.com for more information.  We are delighted to make our first appearance there on that Thursday night after Memorial Day, and we hope that you can join us.  Tickets are available online.

Mi5 Recording for Elizabeth McGovern

Finally, going back a few years ago, in 2015 I joined Mi5 Recordings, under Universal Music Group, as a Director of Social Media Team for the record label.  Very recently, Mi5 started a project with Elizabeth McGovern, whom you may know as an actress for her role in several famous movies and the TV show Downton Abbey.  In case you didn't know, she is also an accomplished singer-songwriter and bandleader and has an upcoming album, and I am happy to share with you that I am recording strings for Ms. McGovern's upcoming release with Mi5 UMG. :) We are in early stages of this project, so more details will come later on.

I hope you enjoyed this newsletter.  Thank you very much for reading and I hope to see you soon.
Best,
Omar
