Coffee House Concerts
Hamilton Line Up
June 2
The Lifers
Tickets
Excited is what we are for the new events happening this spring! We are one of the concerts being offered during the Hamilton Arts Week and Milton Porch Fest is taking place with ABC offering up a preview of next season’s talent.

After being approached by the Hamilton Arts Council about hosting a concert during the Hamilton Arts Week we added a new concert on June 2.  On their new CD release tour, Honey Suite, we welcome The Lifers.  Led by sisters Liv and Anita Cazzola, The Lifers are an art-folk/rock collective from Guelph, Ontario. Their intertwined voices dynamically convey vulnerability and strength. Softly plucked strings, accordion swells, and lush cello and upright bass arrangements give way to rip-roaring drums, soaring melodies and overdriven frenetic strums. Their stories juxtapose tenderness and explosive energy, sometimes within a single breath. The Lifers explore notions of home, family and community, highlighting the beauty, vulnerability and power of nature, challenging both genre and audience.  This is gong to be a great way to end our season!  Come hear some truly unique and powerful folk/rock material!  How often do you get to hear accordion, cello, upright bass, guitar, drums and wicked harmonies together in song?

We are also excited to again be part of the Milton Porch Fest happening on Sunday, May 27.  It’s a free festival. Porchfests are annual music events held across the United States and in Canada on front porches. Started in Ithaca, New York in 2007, porchfest events bring local musicians and neighborhoods together to celebrate and create a sense of community.  We have preview talent for next season on stage at 3PM with male A Cappella group Four Over Forty and singer/song-writer Ellie Ellsworth.  The address is 177 Martin St at Woodward in Milton. It’s happening all day on Sunday so come out and support local talent and be part of the community of Milton.

Advance tickets for the concert at a discount can be purchased by visiting http://www.eventbrite.ca.  Prices are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. We do offer coffee and tea, with our Milton location also being licensed for wine, beer and spirits for purchase.

The fabulous Acoustic Blend Café mug can be picked up for $15 at the concerts.  A great way to start your morning with your favourite beverage in nice size mug with a happy logo!  Package it together with a one pound bag of Fair Trade coffee beans for $15 from Hockley Valley Coffee Roasters.  We have it in Regular and Decaf.

As always, every show begins with an Open Mic.   If you would like to participate in future Open Mics please email acousticblendcafe@gmail.com or call/text 416-565-9490.  Performers will have three songs or fifteen minutes, whichever comes first.  We appreciate the courage of these performers and waive their admission fee.  Don't be shy! We encourage everyone from complete beginners to seasoned pros to come out for Open Mic.  Some of our feature performers have been booked through it!

Acoustic Blend Cafe is about building community, supporting Canadian talent and businesses, and creating a space for camaraderie and friendship.  We set up both the Hamilton and Milton locations to feel like a big living room with comfortable seating, small tables, table cloths, and candle light with light refreshments.  All shows are very intimate.
