We're keeping it going.

We hope this finds you all well.
In this newsletter, a quick update on our activities at BTC over the last months.

There are many successes, as always, but we're especially proud to report that since our official launch in June 2017, nearly 6,000 unique users have visited BTC and engaged with the Decision Tree (we count only those that have spent more than 2 minutes on at least 3 pages). We are delighted that we've had such an impact so far and hope to grow this with our marketing campaign.

See below for more updates.
As Always,
xoxo
The BTC Team

I'm already inspired and would like to donate to BTC now!

Spreading the word

BTC has been successfully engaging the physician community by presenting the Decision Tree at 2 large conferences. We are also happy to report that we were conferred 3 government awards in honour of our work as a community leadership pioneer.
Last fall, we undertook our very first social media outreach campaign. We continue to work on the communications plan and are currently hiring a communications intern.

BTC meets Surgical Oncologists in Canada

With the support of Nicole Espenant, our Director of Communications, and the leadership of Dr. Carolyn Nessim, BTC was introduced to the Canadian Society of Surgical Oncologists in April. This is the society that brings together all surgeons working in cancer care in Canada. Carolyn introduced the Decision Tree to attendees at the conference. Her talk was well received.

BTC Guerilla Marketing Campaign

Thanks for the ongoing efforts of Selam Ogbalidet (a new BTC volunteer) and Felicitas Adrian, Chair of the BTC Board, BTC got a mention in a panel presentation at the Ottawa Family Physician Conference in April. BTC was also included in a panel on health websites (presented by Dr. Jacques Lemelin). Additionally, Felicitas paid a visit to the conference and rather unobtrusively (not really!) left several packages of BTC marketing materials. We are currently preparing some BTC inspired camouflage gear and seeking our next opportunity for action!

Productive Meeting with CBCN

A national organization for breast cancer voices, the Canadian Breast Cancer Network has agreed to help us market the Decision Tree and get the word out about BTC. In addition to the 'traditional' social media swipe, we are currently seeking volunteers to write short (500 word) blog posts. Thank you Brettel Dawson, our beloved "patient zero" for writing our first post (to be published soon). If you know of any patients who have used the Decision Tree and who might like to do this, please put them in touch with us (superfolks@bethechoice.org).

Glossy New Postcards

Glossy new bilingual patient-centered awareness postcards are now available. Let us know if we can send you some.  They are simple and to the point and perfect for waiting rooms.
