Simply said, it cannot be done without you.
Please help us continue the successes of our exemplary music
program by volunteering.
                                            (Choir only link)
As our school year comes to a close, we are in need of volunteers and chaperones for our final events.
  • June 5th, Final Concert*  - We need two more ushers and four ice cream servers for this event.
*If you are a parent of an underclassman, please consider volunteering at this event so that the parents of our seniors can enjoy their child's final performance in its entirety.  Thank you!

Attention Choir of the Titans and Asteria Members!

What to Bring

Other Information:

*We are requesting $5 in tip money for our bus drivers.  Chaperones will collect this on the front end of the trip.

*If your child will be using a debit/credit card for purchases, please call your bank/credit card company alerting them of our travel plans so purchases or cash withdrawals will not be rejected.

*Our group will be leaving at 7pm after a full day at the park.  If you are expecting a notification from your child for pick up on Monday, kids need to be mindful of their battery usage that day.  Expected arrival at WSHS is noon.

*Costco-sized boxed snacks are needed for the road trip.  Individually packed or wrapped items rather than large bags are preferred to keep messes to a minimum.  Recommended items include fruit snacks, individual bags of chips and cookies, Rice Krispie treats as opposed to dry granola bars.  Please label "CHOIR" and deliver to the choir room.

*While we have not had issues with over sized luggage on prior trips, please be mindful of our space limitations when packing.  It will be cozy!

*Your child will be responsible for nine meals (four lunches, four dinners, one breakfast).  To keep expense down, less costly food options will be found outside the park and you may bring your own food into the park.  Check out this link for "Dining at Disneyland California".

*Hotel in Sacramento - Fairfield Sacramento Airport
*Hotel in LA - Best Western on Harbor Blvd

We are looking for new Board Members!

A few of our board members will be "graduating" along with their senior choir students at the end of the year.  We will be looking to fill a few positions to continue building upon the great foundation already established by the members before.

To be mindful of busy parent schedules, board meetings occur once a month and are limited in time to one hour.  Fresh ideas are always welcome!  This is a great opportunity to get to know our talented choir students and what it takes to maintain the successful program Mrs. McConnell has built here at West Salem High School.

Since many hands make light work, we have broken down the positions into several mini-positions. We are looking to fill the following:

Secretary - Filled!
Newsletter Coordinator - Filled!
Facebook Coordinator- Filled!

Coordinators for the following fundraisers:
Butter Braids (twice per year)
Egan Gardens
This involves organizing and distributing student order packets and sorting and documenting orders upon packet return.
Butter Braids - organize Butter Braid afternoon pick-up.
Egan Gardens - Pick up gift cards at Egan's location.

Titan Auction Basket Coordinator
This involves coming up with basket ideas, sorting and documenting items in the baskets, and preparing them for the auction.  Work with secretary in promoting auction and item solicitation via the newsletter and Facebook.  We generally have lots of helpers in the final stages of basket prep and transport to the event.

Sponsorship shadow (in training for the position in 2019)
This involves organizing sponsor hospitality packages per donation level and managing sponsor table at our three concerts.

Please contact any current board members for questions!

WSHS Choir Sponsorships

Sponsorships are an integral part of helping fund Choir needs outside of what a school budget is able to provide.   Your sponsorship donation will provide funds to assist us in the following ways:
  • Provide trip scholarships
  • Replace sound equipment
  • Pay for guest clinicians
  • Pay for festival participation fees
  • Provide snacks and water for choir students during events
  • Assist in keeping up with technology advancements
Please visit westsalemchoir.org for more information.

Thank you for your support!
All sponsorship donations are tax deductible.

Please make checks for fundraisers or trip deposits to WSHS CHOIR. Write your students first and last name and the purpose of the check in the memo line. This ensures the funds are applied to the student accounts properly. Thank you!
