As you will have heard, with the new General Data Protection Regulations and or the Data Protection Act 2018 (“GDPR”) effective from 25th May, if we hold personal data, we have to set out what data we hold, why we hold it and the legal basis on which it is held which are described in our privacy notice.
As a brief summary of the main points affecting you, we only hold personal data sufficient to identify and work with clients or potential clients. We also keep necessary records of past projects and jobs. We may mention other organisations but we never give out personal details except for the purposes of carrying out contracted work.
We are holding data on the basis of Contract, Legal Obligation and Legitimate Interest and are not seeking specific Consent although your rights are unaffected.
Future Communications
Business to business emails are permissible subject to opting out and all BSA general or marketing emails continue to offer this option.
Emails to private individuals are permissible as long as the addressee gives specific permission. If you have an email which is either a private email or not clearly associated with a company - examples include @btinternet.com, @icloud.com, @aol.com etc. we will regard this as a private email address unless told otherwise and you must specifically Opt In to marketing communications.
Whilst we will continue to communicate using all email (private and business) where we have ongoing contracts, we would like to ask you to give your specific permission to use your email to send out BSA Hi Viz, other emails and general communications.
