As you probably know from many, many other emails, on 25th May the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into effect. To ensure we comply with GDPR, we've updated our policy on how we collect and use data, and made it freely available on our website

These are the main points...

• We need to collect and use certain types of information about "data subjects" (individuals and organisations we deal with) to carry out our work.
• We ensure personal information will be collected and dealt with appropriately.
• Information is only shared with third parties if it is a legal requirement or contractual necessity.
• We NEVER share our mailing list with anybody else
• We do not currently require any identifying information from visitors to our website
• We only keep data for as long as it is needed.
• Personal data, whether paper or online, is stored securely and accessible only to relevant staff
• You can unsubscribe from this mailing list at any time

And finally... FREE CAKE!!

BBC Radio York are running thir monthly "Cake and a Cuppa" event at the town hall TOMORROW (Weds 23 May) from 11am-1pm. The perfect opportunity to pop in for free cake, hot and cold drinks, and a lovely chat. It's aimed at combating rural loneliness, so if you knwo someone who doesn't get out as much as they used to why not bring them along. (Did we mention there's free cake...)
