Praying with Patients

By Autumn Dawn Galbreath, MD, MBA | May 16, 2018

Dr. Galbreath wrote a recent article for CMDA where she shared her surprise and thoughts about a recent Medscape Business of Medicine email she received concerning "Should Physicians Pray with Patients?" This is an important question facing Christian clinicians and it will also be an important discussion topic at the upcoming Whole Person Care Conference in October. Find out more about the conference below.

No BHF Dinner This Month!

There will be no BHF dinner for the month of June. Please consider taking the opportunity to grab coffee or a bite to eat with someone you know or even just recently met from within the Boston Healthcare Fellowship community. Just because there isn't a formal dinner doesn't mean we shouldn't get together to share a food, ideas, and encouragement.

BHF dinners will return on July 20th with Dr. John Kempen. You can find out more on our website - http://www.healthcarefellowship.org/events/

If you have any recommendations for topics or speakers at future dinners then please respond to this email and let Andrew know.

October 19-20th Boston Whole Person Care Conference

Do you struggle with how to offer holistic care to the patients you see or will see?

Do you want to engage patients in spiritual conversations or with prayer but you are not sure of how to bring it up and how to go about it?

This conference equips you with the practical and intellectual framework for engaging in whole person care and integrating your faith into how you care for patients. A variety of professionals from different fields will offer their perspectives on how they do it and you will have the opportunity to put what you have learned into action by talking with people a local nursing home.

The format for the conference will be a free component on Friday night at the BHF dinner, followed by paid registration for additional content and practical application on Saturday. There will also be an advanced segment on Saturday for people who attended the conference last year and who would like to explore new information on whole person care.

Sponsored by BHF, CMDA, and Medical Strategic Network
