Community Science Institute Seeks HABs Harriers
Harmful algal blooms (HABs) pose a threat to Cayuga Lake. They can produce toxins that lead to sickness and even death in people and pets. As a HABs Harrier, you would play a key role in tracking, understanding, and ultimately managing this emerging threat in our region. Learn more.

Get Your GreenBack Step of the Month: Walk and Bike
Free, healthy, fun and non-polluting, walking and biking (also known as “active transportation") works well for short trips. Consider an electric bike for help with hills and longer distances.  Learn more.
East Hill Farmers Market
Food Scraps Drop Spot Opens

The East Hill Food Scraps Recycling Drop Spot is now open during the weekly Farmers Market at 380 Pine Tree Road every Wednesday from 4-6pm, in addition to the regular drop spot hours of 11am-2pm on Saturdays. Learn more
LimeBike Passes 10,000 Ride Mark
Ithaca provided Lime with one of its most successful bike share launches ever. Over 4,300 riders rode over 7,200 miles, in the program's first month, according to a press release from Bike Walk Tompkins.
Cornell Aims for Carbon Neutrality with Earth Source Heat
Cornell engineering faculty and facility experts met with more than 100 members of the Ithaca community on May 17 at an open forum to give an update on the Ithaca campus’s path toward carbon neutrality and its goal to heat campus in a climate-friendly way. Learn more.
