North Carolina Medicaid Meaningful Use (MU)
In program year 2018, providers may attest to either modified stage 2 or stage 3 MU and may continue to use a 90-day MU objective reporting period. Providers who have met MU in a previous program year will be required to report a full calendar year CQM reporting period (i.e., Jan 1-Dec 31 2018 for 6 CQMs) with an optional two-part attestation process. Here is a brief video explaining the process or click here for more information.

If you have met MU in a previous program year, you have some options as to when you may submit your attestation on NC-MIPS, including submitting in two parts, which is explained in this video.

Some key MIPS reminders:
- Preliminary 2017 MIPS QPP scores are available to view by logging into the QPP website and clicking on the "View Performance Feedback" icon. Final scores will be made available this summer.
- Unsure of your provider's participation status for 2018? Enter in the NPI here.
- Quality and cost will be reported for the full calendar year in 2018. The cost performance category uses your Medicare claims data to collect Medicare payment information for the care you gave to beneficiaries during a specific period of time, so no additional data submission is required.
- Don't wait until the end of the year to start preparing for MIPS reporting! Your SEAHEC Practice Support consultant is available to help you--please contact her with any questions.
- Here you can find more resources by category for MIPS 2018.

Opioid Prescription Practices:
Survey and Workbook
Thank you to all those who recently participated in our survey! The purpose of the survey was to help us better understand opioid prescribing practices in our region and identify potential opportunities to provide coaching and/or additional resources around this topic. One such resource that we are now providing to practices is the AHEC Clinical Practice Controlled Substance Prescribing Workbook. If you have not received this yet and would like one, please let your consultant know.
