May's Mini RPG Madness

I've been watching The Toys That Made Us on Netflix and thinking about what makes a product really shine. With RPGs, there are a few factors that have worked well for us, like Bob's art, our high quality, and "the cool factor." We're dedicated to our Make Good Games motto, and you'll see that in the thought behind our posts this month. Good games don't just happen, they're designed. This month's posts dig into the thought processes. I hope you find them insightful.

We've updated our home page, making it easier to use and connect with us. I hope you like it.

We are the Stitched

The 200 Word RPG Challenge was this month, and for it I submitted Stitched, a game about playing a Frankenstein's Monster-like creature. Read the game on the blog.

Flex Your Game Design Muscle

Contests like the 200 Word RPG Challenge and others are a great way to improve your design process, just like GMing helps you become a better GM. Read it on the blog.

Children of the Fall - Design Insights

Although the Indiegogo campaign for Children of the Fall just ended, you can look out for it on Drive Thru RPG sometime soon.

Three Stone Stories Re-rolled

I've been reworking Three Stone Stories, a small solo RPG. Here's a look at what has changed and what you can expect in the forthcoming PDF. Read it on the blog.

Hacking Hearthstone

Month-end brings the last sprint to improve your Hearthstone rankings. I'm no pro, but here are my thoughts on climbing the ladder fast. Sound off in the comments if you have more advice.
Read it on the blog.

Loot the RPG Internet!

Here's the best stuff we found while surfing the RPG net.

Unbound is funding a book about Games Workshop, Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson from 1975 to 1985. It's a fascinating look at the early days of the hobby. Check it out.

Ever wanted to tame dinosaurs and run with saber-tooth tigers? Savage Lands is your guide to pre-historic adventure, available on Drive Thru RPG.

Till next time, Tell Thrilling Tales.
