Celebrate Bike Week and World Oceans Day with SATA

Halifax Bike Week 2018 happens from June 1-10 and offers a wide range of biking activities around the city. Come ride with SATA on Thursday, June 7.  Read all the details below the picture.

That same day, we are celebrating World Oceans Day (officially June 8)an international day for action on protecting our oceans.  The action focus for 2018 is:  Preventing plastic pollution and encouraging solutions for a healthy ocean.

Celebrate Bike Week and World Oceans Day on June 7

Join us for our full day event at Clam Harbour
Bike - Walk - Beach Clean-up - Yoga 

LOCATION: Clam Harbour Provincial Park
158 Beach Rd, Clam Harbour, Eastern Shore

DESCRIPTION:
We are celebrating two great events on Thursday, June 7 -
HRM Bike Week and World Oceans Day(officially June 8th).

Join us at Clam Harbour Beach NS and choose a bike ride, a walk/beach clean-up, or beach Yoga with Lori Taylor.  Or try them all.

Stay to enjoy a POT LUCK lunch. Please bring a cooler in your car with something to share with the group. We will have mussels from Aqua Prime in Ship Harbour. 

BIKE
We are offering two bike options both starting at 9 AM  at the Clam Harbour parking lot.  Both are lovely rides along quiet rural roads. 

Option 1 is a slow paced ride to Owls Head and Little Harbour - 20km return lead by
Beach to Little Harbour

Leader : Pat

Option 2 is a longer ride with a faster pace up to the Deanery Project in Ship Harbour then back through DeBaies Cove and Clam Bay and on to Memory Lane Heritage Village and back to the beach - This is 50km with 415m elevation.

Leader : Shirley

YOGA
Following our adventures Lori Taylor will help us recenter, stretch and relax on the beach. Bring a towel or mat if you like.

PICNIC POTLUCK
Bring something to share. The water is not great for drinking so bring enough liquids.

Remember that coastal fog and cool breezes can be expected this time of year so dress in layers and be prepared for anything.
 

Two ride options or a walk on the beach

Choose one of two rides and/or take a walk on the beach and pick up any garbage you find. 
NOTE: there is no walk leader.

Join Lori Taylor for some relaxing yoga stretches on or near the beach.

Potluck lunch

Bring something to share for lunch.  SATA will provide mussels.
