What's Happening Around the Main Street District 

Halls Chophouse Coming to the Main Street District Soon! 

Charleston-based Hall Management Group announced that it has purchased The Oak Table in Columbia from Charleston's Indigo Road Hospitality Group.

The restaurant at the corner of Main and Gervais streets will undergo renovations to align it with the four branded Halls Chophouse restaurants in Charleston, Greenville and soon-to-be-completed Summerville locations.

In addition to the original 4,500-square-foot space, the Hall Management Group has leased an adjoining 4,500 square feet of space to develop for special events, private dining, business meetings and family gatherings.

Congratulations Mayor Steve Benjamin on Becoming the 76th President of the United States Conference of Mayors!

City Center Partnership would like to congratulate our friend, founding Board Member, and former Vice Chairman, Mayor Steve Benjamin. The SC Firefighter’s Foundation is Holding the First Annual Stair Climb at Capitol Center (1201 Main Street) on Saturday, June 16

On that Saturday morning, they will have activity in the Mezzanine level and the Mezzanine will be open like it normally is.  The stair climb will have some common floors open only for beverage stations and medical stations, but non-common floors will remain secured.  The stair climb will end on the Club (25th) Level, and participants will use the elevators to return to the Mezzanine to exit after conclusion of the event.

Passport to Art: A Voyage with a View-CMA Global Sunday Edition

Travel back 50 years in time and explore life during the summer of 1968 at Historic Columbia’s Summer Camp ’68, which kicks off the week of June 25-29. Campers ages 8 to 12 are invited to take an adventure in time and see history come to life through interactive activities and exploration of the gardens, grounds and houses of Historic Columbia. Campers will lead a movement, embrace the flower power by tie-dying shirts, take part in a Summer Olympics relay, and much more. Discover the entertainment, music, sports, and discoveries of this dynamic and exciting year! Summer Camp is $160 for Historic Columbia members and $200 for non-members. Who is City Center Partnership and the BID?
In 2001, City Center Partnership was formed to manage the downtown Business Improvement District in the 36-block area bounded by Gervais, Elmwood, Assembly and Marion streets in Columbia, SC. The organization provides public space management, economic development, place management, marketing services, and public advocacy for the Main Street District.
The Board of Directors oversee the organization’s mission — to focus on filling vacancies in commercial properties, retaining existing downtown businesses and recruiting new ones, expanding the downtown residential base, and creating a safe, clean, and friendly downtown environment.
