Staff Spotlight: Idea Lab

With the opening of the Library’s Idea Lab, we’ve been focused on encouraging creativity and learning through making and skill building. Whether it’s 3D printing and design, sewing, drawing, making music, or some other endeavor, our job is to help inspire you to follow your passions by giving you access to resources and opportunities to inspire you and give you new perspectives and ideas. Here are a few great titles to get you in the spirit!

Keep your mind active by learning a new skill! Universal Class is an online continuing education program offering hundreds of course options, live instructor feedback, and Continuing Education United (CEU) credits. Over 500 video-based courses are available for anyone interested in professional or personal growth. Learn on your own time, at your own pace with a wide range of subjects: including computer skills, interview skills, ESL, GED, personal finance, cooking, gardening, and yoga.
Read and Connect at the Library!
Have you signed up for the Summer Library Challenge yet? Registration is ongoing through August 11 at any of our library locations. Sign up, read for 5 hours, attend community events, and get entered to win a Hamano Ukulele!

Your library has lots of opportunities for you to expand your horizons this summer. Try one of these events happening in July, or check our calendar for more opportunities.

For Kids: Attend a puppet show, try a sing along, and learn about water safety.
For Teens : Explore dancing, make a comic book magnet, or play a jumbo game!
For Adults: Work on  your family tree, try a yoga class, or learn the history of chocolate.
