We hold one meet per month, on the first Friday of the month, at Trinity Union Church, Newtown.
We kick off at 10am with an introduction of our Babywearing Wellington team, a run through of the different styles of carriers, how they are put on and what they are suited for. We will also go through some babywearing safety guidelines before allowing time for you to get help with fitting a carrier, hiring carriers, or catching up with fellow babywearers.
Sometimes our meets can get busy and we are able to provide limited 1-on-1 help at our meets, please be patient with us and those around you. We want to help as much as we can and it is easier for us to chat to a group so please make space for others to be able to join in and listen.
We’re happy to answer any questions you may have about any aspect of babywearing or any type of baby carrier. If we can't answer your questions we can refer you to someone who can. If you're new to babywearing and this is your first meet please try to make sure you arrive on time for the intro and carrier demonstrations.
If you are attending and know a thing or two about babywearing, please don't be afraid to help someone else out if you feel able. We just ask that you advise within your ability and comfort zone.
Our meetings are open to the public, so please feel free to invite anyone you think might be interested - other mums and dads, friends, family... you don't have to have a baby to be a babywearing supporter! Buggies/prams/strollers etc are all very welcome - you don't have to be babywearing to come along.
