Am I impressed with God in His sovereignty?

Dear <<First Name>>,

It’s been a few days now that this question has been plaguing my mind. I have to be truthful when I say; I get nervous when asking simplistic questions like this.

Am I impressed with God for who He is? Do I believe Him, when He says He loves me, yet my world is falling apart around me? Am I still impressed with God, even if He doesn’t give me anything in return? If Jesus is the only prize with no other benefits, would I still lay down my life for Him?

I’m going to leave it at that for now, because my journey on this is not complete, yet it’s thoughts that I walk with on a daily basis.

Current:

We are putting together Care Packs for the Homeless. It’s very cold and these guys are vulnerable to the elements. We felt that we want to look after some of their very basic needs. Our Total budget for this project is round about R50000.

God already provided the entire food budget and all the bars of soap for the evening. We also have a commitment for some Vaseline (About 70 pots)

We found a place that is willing to help us with beanie & scarf combo's @ R17 & Cloves for R5.5. Which means if you commit to R300, that buys 13 sets of beanies, scarfs and gloves.

We need to have everything by the evening of the 14^th of June, because the company that packs the highly nutritious food for us, needs it by the 15^th, so that they can pack it for us and deliver back by the 19^th of June.

Blanket Drive:

For the past three years, we’ve had the amazing opportunity of Outsurance partnering with us for their annual Blanket Drive. We are so thankful to their drive for social good and the faithfulness of their coordinator. Most people doesn’t even think of it, but handing someone a blanket and a bowl of soup can save someone from dying. Thank you Outsurance!

Outreaches & Church:

Our outreaches and church services are running strongly. We see people encountering the love of Jesus, each and every time we go to the streets. On Tuesday I realised that we’ve seen at least one person getting baptised with the Holy Spirit, each week. During most visits more, but on a night with less people to serve, at least one. We see how people are filled with Hope and you know, Hope is a person; Jesus is our Hope.

Bonfire Worship Night

We arranged a Worship Night around the Bonfire at Joy Unspeakable. Our main objective was to celebrate Jesus for who He is and how amazing He is. We also celebrated some people’s journeys of sobriety and they blessed us with parts of their testimony. I am very aware of how privileged we are to be able to celebrate Jesus like this in open air, whenever we want to. This is really something we can celebrate more in our prayers. Thank you all to that attended, and to Dian who led our group of little over 40 people in worship.

Prayer points

We are still working on a way to connect the homeless guys, who have a variety of different skills, to the employment market.
We are trusting for financial breakthrough so that we can put our guys through drug rehab (12 Month program). Adopt a “Junky” giving back a person
You can always pray for me. I have plenty of needs, but I trust the Holy Spirit within you, to guide you to pray for me.
That we as Kingdom Culture would truly be hungry for the presence of God and would be willing to lay down our lives for Him, no matter what He asks.
