- You have one month left to submit to this years's edition of Music Theatre NOW. The next one will take place 2021 - so do not be late.
- If you have not registered yet, please do so in order to familiarize with the application form and collect the information that is necessary for the submission.
- We have a new award on our list: the Shanghai ACT Festival will invite one small or medium sized production from the list of selected projects.
- If you are a Europe resident your mailbox must have been flooded with mails concerning the new General Data Protection Regulation. We must make sure that you receive from us only the desired information and we are happy about that! ACT Shanghai International Theatre Festival (ACT Festival), hosted annually by the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre, celebrates the best of contemporary theatre works from around the globe. The festival has become a vital channel through which the city of Shanghai informs Chinese and international audiences and theatre festival organizers about the latest theatre works of excellence.
The ACT Festival will invite a small or medium sized production from the list of winning productions from Music Theatre NOW 2018 to Shanghai. The “ACT Festival Award” represents the joint efforts of Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre and the ITI Music Theatre Now Network in acknowledging music theatre works which display brilliance in seamlessly weaving music into dramatic structures and using innovative story telling techniques on stage.
The prize will be awarded for the third time.

host for Music Theatre NOW meeting in 2019
The next meeting of winners within the Music Theatre NOW network will be hosted by the Dutch festival once more in May 2019 May 18th - 20th: SAVE THE DATE.
Beside that Operadagen (Rotterdam), have proposed inviting at least one production for a guest performance to their festival.
Operadagen Rotterdam is a worldwide opera and music theatre festival featuring contemporary, innovative, and ground-breaking productions by established international makers as well as young and adventurous talent. The festival presents stories about pushing back frontiers and the search for a new identity under the central festival theme Lost & Found from 2017 through 2020. Operadagen Rotterdam lets the audience rediscover classic operas from days long gone in brand-new arrangements as it leaves the beaten tracks with new music theatre performances, and points to exciting and unknown horizons.

Operadagen Rotterdam continued their journey in 2018 with the sub-theme of HEROISM. It is about the challenges and ordeals that are part and parcel of every adventure. Often the darkest days of the voyage but these are also the moments when people can show true courage.
