• The 24-Hour Pass will change to a Day Pass. Prices will be reduced from $5.00 to $3.00 (regular cost) and $2.50 to $1.50 (reduced cost). Transfers will be eliminated. Day Passes will expire at midnight of the same day of activation.
• The 7-Day Pass price will be reduced from $19.50 to $14.50 (regular cost) and $9.75 to $6.00 (reduced cost).
• The 31-Day Disabled Pass price will be $32.50.
• Veterans will qualify for the reduced-fare rate offered to seniors, youth and individuals with disabilities.
• The price of student Wolf Pass and TMCC bus passes will decrease from $230 to $147 annually, or $73.50 for a six-month pass.
• The price of a single trip for individuals with disabilities will decrease from $1.00 to $0.75. The price of a single trip for an ACCESS ID holder will change from $0.50 to $0.75.

 Construction continues to progress on the 4th Street/Prater Way Bus RAPID Transit Project. As part of the construction process, the RTC plans to temporarily close the I-80 on/off-ramps at E. 4th Street and Prater Way for construction work starting on Monday, June 4 through Saturday, June 16. 4th Street and Prater Way will also close to traffic from Galletti Way to El Rancho Drive during the same time period. These closures will be in effect 24-hours-a-day.

The work is part of the 4th Street/Prater Way Bus RAPID Transit Project. Crews will be removing existing asphalt, paving, striping and adding new signage.

By closing this area to traffic, crews are able to complete this work in two weeks. If they were to continue allowing traffic through, it would take six weeks, extending the total construction time the public would be impacted in this area. The RTC appreciates everyone’s patience during the construction process.

The RTC will provide access to all businesses in this area during the closure, including Motel 6 Reno Airport - Sparks, Pony Express Lodge, McCarran Auto Body, Coney Island Bar, Metro City Carwash, Chevron, CEMEX and the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles. Drivers are asked to follow the business-access signs that will be in place.

I-80 On- and Off-Ramp Detours:

The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) has started construction to resurface the U.S. 395 alternate route through Pleasant and Washoe Valleys.

Drivers should be aware of potential single lane closures on Alternate U.S. 395 just south of Mt. Rose Highway. Over the coming months, the road work will progress south with daytime single lane closures in both directions of Alternate U.S. 395 through Pleasant and Washoe Valleys. The lane closures will primarily take place Mondays through Fridays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Access to side roads and driveways will be maintained during construction.

During road work on the two-lane segment of U.S. 395A in Washoe Valley, traffic flaggers and pilot cars will alternate directions of traffic through the work zone, with up to 30-minute travel delays to be expected. The road work is anticipated to end in late summer.

The project will resurface more than 16 miles of Alternate U.S. 395 between Mt. Rose Highway and the Washoe County/Carson City line. Known as a double chip seal, two layers of new asphalt and roadway gravel will be placed on the road and sealed with a top layer of oil. Segments of additional roadside fencing and sixteen cattle-guards will be installed in certain areas of Pleasant Valley to reduce vehicle/wild horse collisions and enhance highway safety. Some narrower areas of paved roadway shoulder will also be widened to provide extra travel room for bicyclists.

The just over $3 million in roadway improvements by contractor Intermountain Slurry Seal will provide a smoother drive for the approximately 2,400 motorists who travel the road daily. The interim road surface improvements will help preserve the roadway until it is fully excavated and repaved as needed in future years.
