Topanga Creek Outpost
Saturdays - 8 AM - Shop Ride

We ride for about 2 1/2  hours every Saturday from the Outpost.  Always Fun. Always Hills.  Always a good crowd.  Show up early. We leave exactly at 8 AM.

The Topanga Art Walk is Sat. June 2 and Sunday June 3.    We are hosting a couple artists and encourage everyone to stop by.   If you have those days off you might want to visit all the galleries in Topanga.    Topanga Studio Tour 2018

We are about to fill this out completely for the summer to plan ahead.   Send us any requests.
Mechanic Position Available
Full or Part-time.
Send Resume: topangacreek@me.com
Until we add another mechanic, repairs and all service is preferably by appointment.   For the near future, our service department is for current customers only.

Bicycle purchases are by appointment.
It is a really good problem to have.  We are fortunate for an amazing customer base keeping us extremely busy.  Thank you.
Cool Stuff, People & Things at the Outpost
We have had the amazing experience of watching birds hatch in a nest above the speakers outside.     Right now the mama and papa bird are flying back and forth from the nest to encourage the birds to fly away but they must be millennial's because they don't want to leave the luxury of their parent's nest.
Topanga has been on drought alert for a while and we were worried about the life of a Pomegranate tree in the woods above and behind the Outpost.    Happy to report that one of our favorite trees along one of our favorite trails is in full bloom.   YEAH.
Happy Birthday Andrew.   It is Andrew's birthday on Tuesday this week.  We are so glad to have this dude part of the team.   While Andrew is primarily focused on the long term growth of Rogue Journeymen he has filled in to do everything.    Drop by and wish him a happy birthday with some Virgils Rootbeer.   That is his favorite.

Waterford Build up.

Here is the final bike build.   About 10 years ago Christian purchased a Maverick from us and stopped down from Santa Barbara to have us get his Waterford going again.  So much fun.

New Bike Day
Our neighbor Kevin in Topanga walks his dog Oolie at the same time as we walk Rover and the conversations have often been about the trails.  We nudged Kevin onto joining us on the Saturday ride kinda like drug dealers push.  Hey, bro, first demo ride is on us.    Needless to say, Kevin is hooked and here is Kevin with his new Surly Karate Monkey.      Now, ready for bikepacking.
Both Jeovany and Tricia had a blast getting her new Surly Disc Trucker ready.   Brooks Saddle, matching tape and Surly racks are some of the accessories.   So great.
Josh stopped by and we talked about bikes.   We talked about bikepacking and adventures.  Here is Josh with his new Surly Rover Brown Ogre.   Rover approves.
Jackie was ready to leave for a touring adventure on her old touring bike Friday but Jeovany called her mid day to say her new Surly Long Haul Trucker was ready.    In a flash she showed up and picked up her new bike.   We are so excited for her and her husband who is also riding his Surly from on this weekend from Santa Barbara back to LA.     Happy times.
Allen came up to Topanga to try mountain biking for a day by renting a bike and heading out with some friends.    A week later, Allen came back to buy a bike and we are stoked.   The Salsa Timberjack checked all the boxes and here he is with his new ride.
Christian and Jeovany had a blast planning the parts for his Waterford build.  He has had the frame for over 10 years.     Something new again for a refresh.   Full circle bike.  He has had it for a while and wanted it going again with a slant to gravel.   Nice.
Ben new he wanted something that would be worthy of pavement with an occasional off pavement moment.   Ben also wanted sometime a little more comfy than a traditional road bike.      The Rocky Mountain Solo is the bike for Ben and here it is.
UnPredict Your Wednesday........
Camp and Go Slow !!!!
When the shop closed on Tuesday at end of the day, Chris and Andrew headed up to Big Bear.   The guys drove up to Skyline Drive and started riding from the Heli pad to somewhere on both Skyline Drive and the singletrack bikepacking around midnight.    Chris is not the best with directions and often gets lost calling it "UnPredicting" rather than calling it lost.
After an hour or two of riding the two guys camped in the middle of literally nowhere up above 8,000 feet.
The two guys woke up to some extraordinary scenery for UnPredict Your Wednesday and spent the better part of the morning making coffee and relaxing with a very leisurely breakfast.    Oatmeal and coffee.
Try as he might, Chris isn't really always sure where UnPredict Your Wednesday will go or went.    Maps and plans allude him.
If you want to join us, plan to have an adventure.
We can give you directions where we meet up.

Rogue Journeymen, photos and more....
The Stork Family rode by the Outpost during Topanga Days.  They rode on their Surly's and we were so happy to see them enjoying their Truckers and using them for the day.   Well, all but one.  If you look closely at the photo you can see the sad despondent non-Surly riding member of the family in the background on the right.      Must be tough to be the family outcast in broad daylight during a parade.       Topanga Days Parade is a crazy fun parade of chaos and creativity through the canyon.   A family day even with the outcast members who don't ride Surly's.

Turns out that very few people read this far in a dispatch, or at least don't mention they read to the end and learned the secret phone number below.

Rarely published actual phone number.
Nobody reads this far anyway,
we might as well give it out.
(310) 455-1451

Perhaps it is time for a new sign.
