The name of the LORD is a strong tower:
the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. Proverbs 18:10 (KJV)

June 2018 Newsletter
Good Morning, Friends,                                                May 28, 2018
It's such a privilege to again sit down and touch base with each of you, for it prompts us to think of God's blessings of the past month...
One of those blessings has been harvesting ripe avocados and mangoes from the trees at the Home.  Earlier this year we were loosing lots of avocados as they fell off the trees before being ripe.  As we listened to an extensive study on tithing during Sunday School, we realized that we had never thought of tithing our avocados last year...  We rejoiced that God had led us to an awareness of the Truth that had been established in the Old Testament already.  We trust God for a better harvest next year...  These are large,  delicious, gourmet avocados that restaurants are looking for.  Even with the loss, we expect to sell over 600 to the restaurants, plus have sold several hundred to the church people at a reduced price.
It's brought much delight to our hearts as we watched the chicken house being built this past month, for we saw how much the boys have learned from the work crews that have helped in the past years.
While in the States, Kevin lived with a family who had a business of making trusses, so with Ernest's help, he put into practice what he had learned.  He too was willing to take on the challenge of wiring the chicken house with Ernest's guidance - all such valuable experiences!
Our students had off a week so that our teachers could attend the Mennonite Teacher's Institute in Guatemala.  Our Aaron and the Home boys had set a day aside that week to cement the chicken house.  Misael was looking forward to being there to guide them a bit, but instead was home with a very bad stomach flu.  He saw their desire to tackle the challenge and so he gave his blessing that they continue without him.  They ended up with the great satisfaction of having done it themselves and we rejoiced over their accomplishment!  We know that this too is a result of them learning as they watched many a work crew pour concrete for the Home!  Thank you to many of you who have influenced these youngsters with your diligent, hard work!
We too recognize that the girls have learned baking and sewing from the example of work crews.  Thank you to you girls as well for your influence!
I had a very delightful time visiting with the Home girls this past Friday evening after devotions and my heart again rejoiced at the privilege of being a part of these young lives.
We are tickled that Ofelia, a former worker, has consented to come back as a cook!
Our Stephen was at the Home the past 2 weeks in the afternoons to help oversee the homework as an effort to lighten Gustavo's load a bit.
This past month, 2 of the former Home boys visited church.  It's easy to see that Bladimir, 18, is suffering more than he is enjoying his "freedom" of the Home.  Reynaldo, now 17, left around 5 years ago as he wanted the "freedom" of a TV at his aunt's house, but the Sunday he visited, he told Misael he deeply regrets that he left.  He's living in a structured, institutional setting that is trying to teach him discipline to help him get his life back together again - but without a Christian focus.  He said when things were going bad, he remembered what we had taught him and it helped him to go look for help.
We still pray frequently for the salvation of these souls.  It is our deepest desire to see them in Heaven as well!
One Sunday afternoon this past month, we as a family, along with Misael's Mom, had the privilege of visiting a church where Misael's father pastored when Misael was in kindergarten 43 years ago.  They had never gone back to visit, as his father was pastoring other churches until he died, and afterwards, as a widow with 5 boys, it was hard to go alone.  They had many fond memories of that church, but we wondered if anyone would remember them, but indeed we did find one of their very good friends!  It blessed us to see how much it delighted the whole church that we came to visit!  After church we went to visit 2 of Misael's former playmates.  Before leaving their homes, Misael prayed with them that God would give them a desire for salvation.  They had both lived beside the church, so they fully know the plan of salvation, but up until now, have rejected it.  What sad lives!
Lord Willing, we as a family will start traveling this Friday, June 1.  If all goes well, we hope to be in OH in 6 days, be there for 4 days over the Troyer reunion and then on to Dads for another 4 days, before heading home again.  We appreciate your prayers for God's protection as we travel!
Friends, we treasure your support and want to THANK you!  We pray that God will open the Windows of Heaven and BLESS each of you abundantly!!
                                                               For His Kingdom's Sake,
                                                               Misael, Regina, and family
