By the time this month is over,

half of 2018 will be but a memory. What memories did you create? And if you can't remember any good ones (and I'm not talking about what you ate for dinner last night), what might you do differently these next 30 days?

UPCOMING (and some past) EVENTS!
  • May 31, Author D.R. Kiss had a book signing party for her premiere novel, Seeing With Your Eyes Open! It was great fun! And then I took her to:
  • June 15-17, Denver Comic Con! We had a table with our books there and I moderated seven guest author panels including big names like Terry Brooks, Christopher Paolini, Katherine Arden, and many more! Check out my Facebook page to see some crazy photos that captured just some of the excitement of the spectacular weekend.
  • June 22 (this Friday) from 11-3 I'll be at the Tabor Opera House writing and talking with visitors, and I"ll have my books available for early holiday purchase!
  • June 24 at 7 p.m., The Book Haven in Salida will have Open Mic in celebration of the Art of Poetry & Music! Get there early and share your poetry/music!

AUTHOR/BLOGGER/PODCASTER NEWS!
(let me know if you have literary news you'd like to share)
  • I met too many authors at Denver Comic Con to mention in this newsletter, so I'll keep it brief! I'm working on a podcast about the event now, and will get it to you next month.
  • Honestly, I'm still on a Comic Con high from the electricity surging through the Denver Convention Center all weekend...

Have you checked out my weekly podcast Alligator Preserves lately? I have new episodes on the Leadville Race Series with stories of overcoming great physical adversity, a poignant episode in which I read and essay from a Vietnam Veteran (my West Point mentor), and a visit with the oldest writer in the Chaffee County Writers Exchange, Marge Dorfmeister!

I've also recorded three short stories I've written, and if you'd like to hear them--and one new story per month (for as long as I can produce them!)--I humbly ask for your $3/month patronage on Patreon. It's easy and painless to become a patron, and I will love you forever. I'll love you forever regardless, but I'll love you with bonus stories each month if you become my patron.

:)

(and feel free to share some of your own)!

The podcast link above is brought to you by ME, and I'm a one-woman operation! Please share it with anyone you think might enjoy what I offer each week, and become my patron. Find out how--and what rewards you will earn for being my patron--HERE! Spoiler alert: Patrons of $3/month or more will have exclusive access to a new short story I'll write and narrate every month! It'll be like buying me one gluten free brownie every month, but you won't have to deliver it (or watch me eat it)!
Looking for a free writing challenge contest? How about this one from Owl Canyon Press: 50-paragraph short story!  They give you the first and last paragraphs, and you fill in the middle 48! You have until the end of this month. GO!

Be kind to yourself.
