Summer Staff Arrives at CDR

Howdy Deer Runners! This is an exciting week at Dear Ol' Deer Run. The 2018 Summer Staff have arrived and are hard at work preparing for the summer. This group is our largest summer staff ever, and they are gearing up for the biggest summer in Camp Deer Run history!

This week, the staff will be training, planning, and preparing tirelessly to be ready for the first crop of campers who will be arriving in less than a week. Lifeguards are being certified, wranglers are being trained, lessons are being written, and the campgrounds are coming to life with the rapid approaching of the summer.

The theme for the summer of 2018 is Know His Voice. Along with the technical training of the week, the staff will be deeply focused on embodying this theme for the summer. Above all, the staff will spend this week focusing their hearts and minds on the voice and will of God.

Please join us in lifting our Summer Staff in prayer that they may be strengthened to serve the kingdom of God faithfully this summer, making His Voice known to every camper that will pass through our gates.

60th Anniversary Celebration

To kick off the 60th summer of Camp Deer Run, we will be celebrating with a HUGE party this Saturday, June 2nd. Everyone is invited! We want YOU to come celebrate with us. Tell all your friends too! It's an event you won't want to miss.

It will be a day filled with fellowship, fun activities, worship, and a free dinner. We have several fun events and stations planned for the day including CDR Caricatures, a Photo Booth, a Deer Run History station, and much more! We’ll end the evening with a devotional time with plenty of singing and a thought from Camp Director, Ty Ford. We want to worship together with the whole Deer Run Family and praise God for the work He has done and will continue to do through Camp Deer Run.

And don’t worry, you won’t be going home empty handed! We’ll have plenty of 60th Anniversary memorabilia for everyone to take home.

Feel free to arrive at Camp as early as you’d like, but the party will officially start at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 2^nd, 2018 and wrap up around 8 p.m. Dinner, dessert, and refreshments will be free to all guests.

Register now to let us know you’re coming! Registration for this event is completely free, so don’t worry about the cost. Spread the word to your family, friends, and every Deer Runner you know! Everyone is invited, and we want to share this exciting milestone with as many people as possible.

For those that are traveling or need accommodations, cabins will be available to stay the night at camp on Friday, June 1.

In Other News...

Two New Cabins Completed
The two new cabins that began construction earlier this spring are now complete and ready to be home to hundreds of campers over the next nine weeks! This new capacity has given us the opportunity to welcome many children this summer who we may not have been able to serve without these new cabins. We are so excited to be able to share the message of Christ with more kids than ever this summer at Camp Deer Run!
