June means Winchester Craft Beer Week, Hop Blossom, Pride!, Tastings & Fathers Day

This is the 6th year for the Hop Blossom Craft Beer Festival beer festival.& it officially kicks off with Winchester Craft Beer Week TOMORROW! with Murphy Beverage & Winchester Brew Works with a mini beer festival! Join us at 320 North Cameron Street from noon until 6p. It doesn't cost anything, just buy your beer! Several local breweries will be in attendance, Murphys will have wine & sangria, Wood-fired pizza & a lot more. The even is rain or shine. If you haven't been to Brew Works, the place is huge. There's plenty of room inside, if the weather should take a turn. We'll see you there.
Next up, Murphys will be at "What We do In The Shadows" at the Alamo Draft House, Sponsored by Hop Blossom & Psycho Cinema. Vampires, reality tv...what could go wrong? And there will be beer! This is on Tuesday!
Murphys is participating in the Women In Beer Panel again. Seeing as how we brought craft beer to town...and Charlie's a woman...it all works out! This event is a lot of fun. Lots of ladies talking about beer! and Guys, it not just for the ladies. We'd love to have you there as well! It's on June 6th at Winchester Brew Works.
Finally, there's a new event we are involved in, Beer & Yoga with our good friend Jill at Dharma Yoga Studio160 N. Loudoun St. It's on June 7th. Beer, Yoga!

Finally, the main event, Hop Blossom! Saturday June 9th. This is the 6th year and you can get your tickets here at Murphys. They are $25.00 in advance & $30.00 day of, so save yourself $5.00 bucks! Winchester's premier beer festival! On a side note, one I am very proud of, My niece Hannah did this years poster!

Tonight, Tonight, Tonight! (Not to get a Phil Collins song stuck in your head!) The above wines are what you'll be sampling. It's First Friday, Come In and meet Kayla, the barefoot painter, sample some outstanding Italian wines all priced under $15.00. It starts at 6pm and goes until 8pm.

Murphys is gearing up for Creature Features again at Escutcheon Brewery, 142 W. Commercial St. They are on the 2nd Sunday June through October. Our first film is Plan 9 From Outer Space. If you haven't seen this Ed Wood train wreck, it's time you have. We have also added The Chef's Market! They will be there starting at 6pm. You'll be able to buy dinner to enjoy during the film. The event is free, but we do ask for donations to support the Skyline Indie Film Festival. Come thirsty, come hungry!

Winchester's First ever Pride Day is coming and we at Murphys will be knee deep in it. Diversity is what makes this town great! We will host a Taste the Rainbow tasting from 3p to 6p and we are sponsoring a movie with the Skyline Indie Film Festival at our neighbors, The Espresso Bar & Cafe. We will be showing Torch Song Trilogy. It starts at 6pm. The movie is free but we will be accepting donations for the Skyline Indie Film Festival. Put June 23rd on your calendar and celebrate the diversity of our community! I couldn't be more proud of our little town!

Fathers Day is this month, so of course we are hosting a tasting for dear old Dad. It will be with Bravo Cellars on the 16th from 1p-4p. It's also a good time to sign Dad up for Our Platinum Wine Club! As we did for Mother's Day, We are offering a special 3 month membership for $90.00 payable in advance. Dad will get 2 wines a month for 3 months plus a description of the wines and food pairings. If he enjoys it, he can extend it on his own. You get a wine you are probably familiar with (chardonnay, Merlot and the like) and then we throw you a curve ball (a blaufrankish or something from Cahors, hopefully something totally new to you!) IT is the gift that keeps on giving!
