A Sampling of Market Wares
|
|
Third Grade students, along with Ms Chrimes, would like to thank you - our dear Waldorf Community - for your encouragement and generosity while visiting and supporting their Market this week.
They would also like to thank all the wonderful parents and colleagues who helped the children to create a wide variety of beautiful items to sell, as well as the encouraging and respectful care our older students demonstrated while visiting the market. The students are feeling quite proud of their accomplishments.
After careful counting, the students tallied $563.35 which Ms Chrimes was able to present, following the Rose Ceremony on Thursday, to Grade 12 to put toward their service trip to Thailand.
Bravo Grade 3!

Bike Safety with Kim Steed
Bike to School Week was a huge success. We logged over 100 students, parents & teachers riding their bikes this week! It was so much fun to greet everyone as they marked progress on the tracking poster. Thank you to Kim Steed, VWS parent and owner of Steed Cycles, who offered a fun and informative safety session & games on Monday afternoon. I'm hoping to continue to see our bike racks full! If it keeps up, we might just need to invest in a couple more!

We are so thrilled by the overwhelming popularity of our trial lunch program, and have reached a point where a few kitchen helpers would be incredibly beneficial! Please connect with Laura at lbergstrome@vws.ca if you would like to help out with our warm & friendly kitchen crew.

- donate a bottle of wine,
- check the VWS Buy Sell Trade Group on Facebook for other requested items,
- sign-up to be a volunteer on the day of the event (set-up / take-down crew or other support roles during the event),
- and of course, buy your ticket and encourage your friends to buy their ticket here www.bit.ly/newmoonsocial.
If anything resonates or inspires you, please connect with Mary at mhenley@vws.ca.

Baby Goats in the Grade 1 Play Yard
Thank you, Carsten, for delighting our students by bringing in your baby goats! What a fun and wonderful day!
|
|
This week fly by with a flurry of activity. Begining with Bike to School activities on Monday, to recognizing the achievements of our High School students at the Colin Dutson Awards and the swarming of our bees under the full moon on Tuesday, to the great success of the Grade 3 Market and another delicious Hot Lunch on Wednesday, to the beauty of the Grade 12 Rose Ceremony and the Full Faculty meeting with the Grade 12 Students on Thursday, then culminating with a Grade 2 sharing today and saying good-bye to Grade 12 as they fly off to Thailand for two weeks of service. I'm left in awe and wonder at how that all just happened in only 1 week!? Enjoy your weekend, everyone.
