Welcome to the ENC Crossbones Monthly Reflector

F3 ENC Crossbones continues to grow and to reshape the bodies, minds, and hearts of High Impact Men throughout our region. Keep posting and keep headlocking!

There are AOs in so many places and at so many times that excuses are running thin. This June hit up Run for Life and the Three Headed Hound. The Sasquatch is coming up next month, so the time to prepare yourself is now!

From the Nantan:
Intentional is a word that we often hear in our COT ("attentional" for some ... Aquaman). Being intentional means to act with purpose. As men of the gloom, we are all intentional in our fitness. We set the alarm, we put on our shoes, and we walk out the door to do something difficult when most of the world is still asleep. This intentionality brings us outside of our comfort zone, where we can grow stronger and build confidence and competence in our physical fitness. I have little concern about the intentionality that the PAX has in terms of physical fitness.

The question I will have you ponder is one that I often ask myself. Am I being intentional in all of the areas of my life? I often visualize personal growth in terms of a linear growth model. The growth over time is directly correlated with intentional actions on my part and the people that I surround myself with. However, this growth is not perfectly linear. There are troughs and peaks along the way but the goal is to continue to progress. When the pain of a trough gets great enough or a friend extends a hand, I will typically put in the effort to work towards the next peak.

As HIM, we are pulled in so many different directions, but focus on the important areas of life and intentionality will propel us towards our ultimate goals. How is your relationship with your M, the center of the concentrica and your most important relationship? How are you interacting with your children? Have you stepped outside of yourself to extend your hand to pull another person out of their trough? Are you stepping up as a leader at work, in your church, and in your community? How is your spiritual and emotional health? This is the first step - Awareness. Once we become comfortable to ask ourself and our shieldlock these questions we make way for the next step - Action. The whetstone and the shieldlock are two very important tools we have in our arsenal to gain the awareness and the courage to act so that we may propel forward in our holistic journey of growth.

So as you begin your summer, ask yourself these questions, and lean upon your key relationships for guidance and support along the way. F3 is here to make you physically stronger, but we are also here to help ensure success in other areas of life.

The Three Headed Hound Update:
String Bean asked during one recent COT, “What’s #TTT?” Had to correct our Weasel Shaker because he thought it meant Tickle Tonka’s Titties. What that HIM quickly realized is that #TTT is “The Toughest Thing” and once a month that means taming the Hound.

The Three Headed Hound is a monthly CSAUP event that takes place at various AOs Q’d by some of the toughest Qs (or in some cases, just Pied Piper). So far 18 total pax have tamed the Hound at least once. We quickly realized that #TTT is getting out of the fartsack that 3rd day.

The third monthly appearance of the Hound will be made in June at the following AOs: 6/19 @ Ruck Ready (0515 start); 6/20 @ School Yard; 6/21 @ Shipyard (Washington) (0515 start). It’s a 0515 sandwich.

Some of you are saying, “Why the heck did Bono pick Washington? I am too big a wussy to get up that early.” Whelp, it’s not supposed to be easy, so plan ahead and pucker up butter cup. Novocaine is a two-time Hound tamer and that man is a stud.

The only way you can earn the right to sport one of our The Three Headed Hound shirts is to post for all three in one month and tame the Hound. This is a dang good lookin’ shirt in navy. Here’s the link that will open up on June 15: http://bit.ly/2xaJSFJ. It will stay open until June 30, so if you want to wear one for the Sasquatch, then you gotta come see what the Washington Shipyard has to hold.

From Washington:
Washington has seen an influx of FNGs in the month of May. I'd say we've had a FNG at more workouts than not the last few weeks. We've also had some guys that disappeared over the winter return to the gloom, which has been nice to see. T-Claps to Corn Hole (respect), who first posted a couple of weeks ago. YHC doesn't think he's missed a workout since he started.

We just re-launched the RunForgiven AO to incorporate a weekly running workout. The Dark 30 Ruckers have been consistent on Wednesdays and Fridays, and they are currently helping the new FiA group get started rucking. Monday Morning Bible Study is still going strong, and The Landing Strip and The Shipyard are seeing consistently good numbers posting. Saturday Market has started, so The Waterfront has been getting a good audience and creating a buzz around downtown. Just a friendly reminder NOT to park in the lot on Saturdays, as the vendors need that space to set up their tents.

We've had a good nine months or so ... post with us and you'll hear things like, "This is the best thing that's happened to me in a long time," "I didn't realize how much I needed this," etc. The 2nd and 3rd Fs are becoming more prominent in our mission. Looking ahead, YHC would like to see us plan a convergence to mark our 1-Year Anniversary in August.

  • Shake: Always be headlocking. Sad clowns are everywhere you turn.
  • Rattle: Don’t get stuck in a routine. Try different AOs. Mix it up.
  • Roll: Give hard commits … then post. Ask to Q ... then Q. Don’t just make decisions in your mind and wait. Take action on those decisions! That is leadership and that is what we do.
