FACES MINISTRY ECUADOR CELEBRATES DEDICATION OF NEW MINISTRY FACILITIES

The FACES Ministry, Ecuador, recently celebrated 15 years of ministry to children involved in child labor with the dedication of their newly constructed feeding center and remodeled educational facilities.  Having founded the ministry in 2003, Church of God missionaries, Dan and Teresa Susong, are grateful that the children and youth served by the ministry now have a permanent place to call home.

The ministry center receives working youth and children at risk of child labor each day Monday through Saturday, as well as housing a fully accredited high school where working adolescents are reinserted into an educational program and go on to lead productive lives.   The new all -purpose dining room also provides a meeting place for the preaching services held on Sundays and Wednesday evenings.

Through projects with the Ecuadorian government and the coordinated efforts of key child protection organizations, Ecuador has seen almost a 50% drop in child labor statistics in the last 15 years.

Dan and Teresa, their faithful staff, and the needy children and families of the FACES Ministry give glory to God for all those who so generously gave to make the dream of owning their own facility a reality.

During the Dedication Services, the children provided special singing and several youth shared testimonies as to how the ministry has blessed them over the years.

National Church of God overseer, Bishop Jimmy Arguello gave the message.  Special plaques were presented to honor Church of God World Missions, Pastor E.L. Turner Ministries, and the Lazarus Foundation for their vision and commitment to seeing this project to its completion. A photo of E.L. and Doris Turner was lovingly placed in the central office of the ministry center in recognition of their many years of tireless support of the FACES Ministry.  The newly reconstructed dining room was dedicated to the memory of Pastor Herman Toney of North Carolina. Regional Bishop Guillermo Vasconez prayed over the FACES Staff and Board of Directors to close the ceremony, designed to give glory to God for his unmatched faithfulness to the FACES Ministry over the years.

The faithful giving of the ministry partners is the lifeline that supports all these initiatives against the problem of child labor and insures that each child hears of the saving grace of Jesus Christ and learns of His plan for a better future in Him.
