NEW MONOPRINTS AVAILABLE NOW!

Everyone at Crow's Shadow had a fantastic time getting the chance to meet and work with Marwin Begaye for two weeks during May. He departed on June 2 and filled his time with ambitious (and gorgeous!) printmaking projects. He worked with Judith Baumann, CSIA Master Printer, to finalize two multi-color lithographs that will be editioned in the coming months, one features a Meadowlark, and the other features a California Condor. He also created a series of 20 monotypes with a heron, which are now dry and ready to find  new homes. If you missed Marwin's artist talk at CSIA on May 31st, you can listen to an interview by local radio host Lily Sheoships about the beginning of the residency and some of the inspirations for his artwork.

All 20 of these unique Monoprint images by Marwin are on our website now, and keep an eye out for Marwin's editions to be released in the coming months.

CROW'S SHADOW WELCOMES SECOND AIR OF 2018

Crow’s Shadow Institute of the Arts (CSIA) is welcoming Avantika Bawa to the studio for two weeks in June. We are also excited to share that Bawa was just named one of the 2018 Hallie Ford Fellows in the Visual Arts, along with a recent CSIA AiR alumnus, Demian DinéYazhi’. Bawa will spend two weeks in the Crow's Shadow studio working closely with CSIA's collaborative Master Printer, Judith Baumann. At the end of her residency, on Friday, June 22, the public is invited to meet the artist and see the work she has been making while at CSIA. Bawa will speak at about 5:30 and share her residency experiences with the public.

The following Friday, June 1st was the Nixyaawii Community School (NCS) senior graduation. Three of the eleven graduating seniors had done printmaking at Crow's Shadow and each received a small scholarship from CSIA in honor of their artistic achievements.
