There are 12 opportunities to share your knowledge with our youngest church members. Please stop by our table in the court-yard after church on Sundays to sign up and pick up your easy-to-use lesson plan. The lesson plan format includes songs (words and music provided), stories to read, and crafts and activities to use. Education team members can assist in answering any questions.

Jesus calls us to share our faith. What a wonderful way for you to follow his example. Please sign up for one Sunday (or more) to teach this summer, and enjoy the children in our congregation. You will discover its joys, and perhaps desire to become a regular teacher come autumn.

What would it mean to engage in responsible contemporary theological activity that is also authentically Wesleyan? What would be the potential benefit of doing so? pursuit of these questions led Rev. Bible Giants Need You

by Karen Scanlon
You're not too old, too decrepit, too healthy, or too busy, too slow, or too fast. We need an assortment of volunteers to help us in prep and execution of Vacation Bible School ahead of and during the week of August 20 - 24. This is a commu-nity adventure and we hope you'll be with us, too. Go back to your own childhood, did you attend Vacation Bible School or some such?

I've been reading and rereading a book Rev. Jeri gave me titled Being United Methodist: What it means and why it mat-ters. I keep it as close to me as my Bible. In short, author J. Ellsworth Kalas says that we must remain close to our Method-ist roots. And I can think of many roots to tend, certainly you can, too. Vacation Bible School is one of them--giving our children the experiences of the Bible.

We need you for a few hours, a single job in prep, or attending one (or more) of our two-and-a-half hour sessions in August. Please let us know how you'll help, won't you? This is living our United Methodist faith.
Please call or email:

Save Your Boxes Please

We are building the wall of Jericho at Vacation Bible School in August. You will get to experience this, too, on VBS Sunday following our week of constructing Bible giants. WE NEED BOXES OF EVERY SIZE, SHAPE, COLOR. Will you, please, save every box you meet? Hang on to them for early August. Just wait til you see what we can do with your boxes! Thank you very much.

Summer Camp At Cedar Glen

An incredibly fun, transformative and fulfilling experience, youth summer camps are registering youth for their summer programs.. Four different camps for younger elementary, older elementary, middle school and high school students are available in June and July of this year at Camp Cedar Glen. A beautiful place in Julian full of green trees and where there are more stars than open sky at night. Learn more and sign up your youth at campcedarglen.org. Camp costs $445 for the three older groups. Scholarships (camperships) are available through the conference on the registration form and through St. Mark's so don't let cost prevent you from experiencing the joy of camp!
