Interbeing Sangha
of Kingston

Weekly Meeting

Please join us for our next weekly gathering, taking place this evening, Sunday, June 10th for meditation and dharma sharing, 6:30pm at Unitarian Place (Kingston Unitarian Fellowship), 206 Concession Street. Dale Fainstat will be bell minding.
Happiness is Here and Now

"If we think we have twenty-four hours to achieve a certain purpose, today will become a means to attain an end. The moment of chopping wood and carrying water is the moment of happiness. We do not need to wait for these chores to be done to be happy. To have happiness in this moment is the spirit of aimlessness. Otherwise, we will run in circles for the rest of our life. We have everything we need to make the present moment the happiest in our life."

-- Thich Nhat Hanh, The Heart of the Buddha's Teaching

Plum Village Practice

Pebble Meditation

Last Sunday we used pebbles as part of our practice. The pebble meditation is Thich Nhat Hanh’s beautiful meditation for all ages, which reminds us of our flower freshness, mountain solidity, water reflective clarity and spacious freedom. In this video on the Plum Village website, Plum Village monk, Thay Phap Luu (Brother Stream) charmingly explains and demonstrates this wonderful practice for children (and adults!).
Liberation of Non-self

"Attachment to the false view of self means belief in the presence of unchanging entities which exist on their own. To break through this false view is to be liberated from every sort of fear, pain, and anxiety."

-- Thich Nhat Hanh, The Miracle of Mindfulness: An Introduction to the Practice of Meditation
Our sangha has two teams helping to share leadership and facilitation of our meetings. Our Bell Minders Team are mindful facilitators for our weekly gatherings, as well as retreats, taking beautiful care of our friends in the practice including the bell. Our Sangha Care Team facilitates sangha care meetings, plans retreats, minds our library and resources, and coordinates outreach. If you are interested in helping with either or both, contact interbeingkingston@gmail.com for more information.
