NEWS: Local River Conditions and "Float Trips"

Many of you know, parts of urban and rural Missoula, as well as surrounding areas succumb to flooding and swollen rivers and riparian areas this spring, resulting from warming mountain snow runoff, rain, and sharply rising temperatures...and more rain; repeat. As a result of the rapid (no pun intended) rising of the rivers, several local recreation areas were closed to boating, and/or floating the river. These conditions lead to dangerous conditions including logjams and other heavy debris, as well as hypothermia in prolonged exposure. Care and observation must play a part in your choice to recreate on the rivers. Rest assured, floating season is coming, however, so stay tuned to the great outdoors, and our local wild land agencies...

Learn More about our local rivers and waterways, before planning your next float trip!

From Canada to France, Ireland to India, Australia and Ukraine, my passengers have shared with me that they have enjoyed their experiences abroad while visiting Missoula and the surrounding areas, as well as the National Parks...
