The Knox Historical Society will have the Saddlemire Homestead Museum open from noon to 2:00 pm as part of NYS Path Through History Weekend featuring the Anti-Rent War in the Hilltowns. 
Come see our tin horn and Calico Indian costumes, and browse our exhibits depicting early life in the Pill Box Capital of the World!

Author Talk: Jill Witbeck Knapp will speak about her work, A Time for Redemption, where she relates the tale of her great-great grandfather William Witbeck's arrest, trial and eventual acquittal for the murder of Rensselaer County Deputy Sheriff Willard Griggs in July of 1869.

Dr. Bruce Dearstyne, former program director of the New York State Archives and professor of New York State history, and author of The Spirit of New York - Defining Events in the Empire State's History, which contains a chapter on the Anti-Rent era.
