Suitable for people living with lupus, sjogren's, scleroderma, raynaud's, fibromyalgia, hashimotos, thyroids graves. This is part of the 'Cafe Conversation' program of the Autoimmune Resource & Research Centre.

PACE Mentoring
Positive Action towards Career Engagement (PACE Mentoring) connects students and job seekers with disability with mentors from leading Australian businesses.
How it works:
You will be paired with an experienced professional who you will meet with six to eight times within a four-month period between August and December. The meetings last between one and two hours. You can discuss your career goals and aspirations, and get help to develop a plan for your personal and professional development.
APPLY HERE before the end of June to be considered for the Spring 2018 cohort of PACE.

Household model of care found to achieve better resident outcomes at no extra cost
Aged care residents living in smaller home-like clusters have a better quality of life and experience fewer hospital admissions, according to new research.
The Flinders University study involving 541 permanent residents in 17 aged care facilities investigated the consequences and costs of living long term in clustered home-like aged care between January 2015 and February 2016. Continue reading... |

New aged care research focuses on the health of workers
A study is investigating how employment conditions impact the health of older aged care workers.
The research, which is being conducted in partnership by the University of Melbourne and the Brotherhood St Laurence, is targeting older adults employed in direct care roles in the aged care sector.
The study aims to explore the connections between older workers’ employment conditions and their health as well as inform efforts to improve work conditions and policies.

Government to release bulk of additional packages in next 12 months
Most of the Federal Government’s 14,000 extra high care packages announced in the May Budget will be released into the system over the next two years, the Department of Health has confirmed.
The department told Community Care Review an additional 8,700 Level 3 and 4 packages as part of the budget measure would flow into the national pool in the next 12 months. Read on... |

CHSP Funding Extension webinar
On Thursday 24 May 2018 a webinar on the CHSP Funding Extension was held for CHSP providers and stakeholders. A recording of this webinar is now available. Captions and a transcript for the recording will be added soon.
The department is currently reviewing all questions submitted during the live broadcast. These will be used to inform topics for regular communication with providers on all aspects of the CHSP including the funding extension.
