News from The Arthrogryposis Group (TAG):

Well it’s proving to be a very busy year in the TAGosphere!

I am delighted to tell you that the dedicated TAG clinics are working well - with a couple of existing members of TAG attending them to give support and help to unknowing parents.  We are at GOSH, Oswestry, Newcastle, Glasgow and Birmingham.  We hope in the not too distant future to be at Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, Cardiff and Bristol.

As you have probably noticed we have been invited to take part in three lots of different research. Look at the website and Facebook for more information.

We have had several ‘meet ups’ this year so far – all well attended.  Keep your eyes open on the website and Facebook for up and coming events.  These events are arranged in various parts of the country to enable you and/or your children to meet other families with Arthrogryposis. So, do take advantage of them.  Most are free – check individual event details.

Events coming up.
These events are for everyone to go to no matter where you live. You will find much more information on on our website and Facebook pages.

First of all, as it is very soon We would like to remind you about our meet up at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. We are meeting at 10am in their ‘Courtyard’ on Saturday 16th June 2018. Don’t forget to bring some evidence of your disability for us to get discount. We are paying your entrance fee and one drink (non-alcoholic!). The SatNav post code is DN4 6TB and the address is Warning Tongue Lane, Bessacar, near Doncaster.

Boccia weekJune is TAG Boccia ‘Taster sessions’ month. See lots of information on this on the website and our Facebook page.

We have two events coming up in South Wales:
The first is a fun fund-raising event at The Llanarth Club at 7pm on Saturday 30th June, 2018.  For more information contact Donna on 0751 6855377. Just to remind you there is an excellent singer appearing and there will be a raffle and an auction.
Then a few weeks later – also in South Wales – we are having a ‘meet up’ at St. Fagons National Museum of History near Cardiff. This is on Saturday 18th August from 11am. Again, if you want more information phone Donna on 0751 6855377.

The Boccia World Championships are at the Liverpool Exhibition Centre from 12th August 2018 to 18th August 2018. Obviously, we have not organised this but we think many of you might be interested as per our link up with Boccia England for June with our taster sessions. Also, there are several teams from Europe that have players with Arthrogryposis

We are having a ‘meet up’ at RAF Cosford near Wolverhampton from 11am on 16th September, 2018.  It is free. We will reimburse your parking as that is not free, even for Blue Badge holders.

Don’t forget there is lots more information on our website and Facebook pages.

Finally, the next newsletter coming out during the next week or so, will contain lots of details and information of the Scottish Day Event on Saturday 25th August 2018.

Also coming out are the full details of the Family Weekend and AGM on Saturday 20th October 2018 and Sunday 21st October 2018 at the Double Tree by Hilton in Coventry.

I hope to see you at least at one of the events.

Peter
